WMC 12/13: Mercy kill. (0-4)

I don't believe any more that this team will tear it up in the playoffs. They look like a team that barely makes the 8th seed.

with the season we've had, a first round and out doesn't actually sound too bad from where i'm sitting.

The thing that really ticks me off is that Kobe is PASSING the ball and these guys are getting WIDE OPEN LOOKS and they continue to miss. Jodie Meeks has really irked me...same with MWP...either these guys pass up wide open shots or they're missing them. Why can't we get some consistent shot makers on this team? I wish Nash shot the ball more....he's the only guy I feel that can hit an open shot on this team and i can feel CONFIDENT about it!

I mean a 28 point lead down to 4? How does this happen? I don't even know if we deserved to win this game given how many injuries the Wolves had and how much they fought to get back in the game....

Can you imagine if they didn't start out the game shooting 80% from 3. They would have got wrecked

or we could of finished hot after starting cold. Selective "if's" for the win

NOH - blow 19 pt lead. Squeak out a win.
PHX - blow 14 pt lead. Lose.
Minn - blow 27 pt lead. Nervous win.

We've blown leads before. ORL and HOU are two i can recall.

Really WTF.

That zone Adelman took really slowed down their attack and befuddled them. Big key is that they kept their composure enough not to have Minny maintain their momentum.

It's not a good thing but I remember the 07-08 team did the same thing. In the "MVP" game at the end of the season the Lakers had a 30 point lead on the Hornets and it went all the way down 1 by the 3 minute mark of the 4th quarter. And then we all know what happened in the Finals

Teams that rely on hot shooting to get a big lead and expect it to carry them the rest of the game will go through this. The problem is our defense is so bad no lead is big enough.

So do we decrease Dwight's minutes and blame it on his shoulder? We didnt have any FT or TO issues last night

It must be out uniforms...... The Lakers have been unable to solve a zone for a decade..... regardless of the personnel.

^It's not just the Lakers. The Mavs pulled the zone on Miami in the 2011 Finals.

The Lakers better be prepared for Detroit, Calderon is gonna make his debut in that game so you know the Pistons will show effort.

He's got VISA issues.

any team with one bonafide star will have trouble against the zone. That's why it worked well against the Heat in the finals of 11, and that's why it worked well last night against us.

Kobe really needs a Rudy Gay type at sf, so he has someone to pass to. It's a shame that he has overconfident Ron instead, and an old Nash who can only spot up these days.

What in the world... The Heat is known as one of the strongest "superteams". Which team has a bigger collection of stars than Miami?

Im on my phone so I cant post the link...according to David Mayo on MLIVE.COM Jose Calderon visa issues not resolved yet and he will probably miss the next 2 games. Hope we win tomorrow just like Friday this is a must win game. Last time in Detroit Stuckey lit up Artest, no repeat of that please. We blew them out in November hopr we win big again and veryone can vo enjoy SuperBowl Sunday

How telling of our poor perimeter D is it that we're afraid of Calderon starting?

We're at the point where I'll take a win even if we're playing the Sparks and they're running with 4 players

Thats funny. Of course if history has proven correctly you would call the game before it started saying the Sparks are going to win by 42 points.

The last few games show why the "Kobe passing system" is flawed. What it is doing is getting other guys baskets but these are very undependable scorers. This is also taking Kobe out of rhythm. Gets late and the game tightens up and no one can make a shot and Kobe has no rhythm. The insane number of 3s didn't help either. I have never seen a more backwards basketball team in my life. You have an all time assist guy acting as the shooting guard. An all time scoring guard acting as the PG. You have Pau shooting 3s. Team may make it into the playoffs but they are going to get knocked out very early.

I love the Kobe passing first and playmaking... it takes teams out of their element due to its unpredictability.

The officiating has been horrible . We are playing 5 on 8 out there
