WMC 12/13: Mercy kill. (0-4)

8th seed.... Not a bad game. Solid win. Bulls are not an easy team... They are a very capable team. Now lets continue this streak...

My only complaint is MWP missing so many 3s...and our team in general missing wide open 3s....but other than that....great game against a very tough Chicago Bulls team.

40 minutes for Kobe today

I fell asleep as soon as the game went off lol, long night before hand. I can't bash them too much because the Bulls are a tough cookie and they beat them fairly well. But the shooting needs to be a bit better. Dwight played well though.

Our starting SF & PF are really struggling with their shot right now. This is not good. Teams are going to continue to leave them open and they have to hit those open shots. 5-26 from is atrocious. Earl and Metta were a combined 1-11 in this department...

Very business-like win today. I was happy with the effort and the grit. We shot too many threes IMO since we weren't making any (20% on the day), which had D' Antoni written all over it, but we played smart down the stretch and put them away. We're in the 8th spot, and that's awesome!!

We could have very easily died by the 3 today. Luckily Chi was banged up and even the guys on the floor were off.

Our defense we decent and the effort was fairly consistent all day. There were quite a few open looks that Chi just missed and Noah nearly played Howard even.

40 minutes for Kobe isn't great and only 50% as a team from the line is horrendous.... even for us...

Howard missed all 5 free throws....

The Lakers missed at least 15 open 3s....like 6 of them were from MWP....

Metta needs to find his shot.. he's playing really good D, but is a total liability on offense.

im glad metta realized his 3 was off and took a step inside in which he drilled them also attacking the rim and finishing with the left hand of the law.

WMC- inconsistent shooters, Meeks could hit 10 of em in a blow out same with Blake but if we really needed them to hit their shots during close games, more often then not they dont come through.

Lucky that Chicago was offensively-challenged today.

WMC: Even with the Lakers playoffs hopes actually starting to look realistic again, the team still hasn't really improved enough to where I really feel at all confident that they'll do much in the playoffs to begin with. Most of the same terrible, horrific, insultingly bad tendencies are still present, they've just done a somewhat better job of covering them up, but underlying it's hard to see how this team has really gotten much better, they are still liable on any given night to have defense breakdowns that allow the opposition to score 10-15 uncontested points in a row(and within 2 minutes or so) they are still liable to have stretches where they turn the ball over on consecutive possessions or 5-10 times in a half/quarter. They are still liable to have streaky and inconsistent shooters and wind up in positions where they are scrambling from behind to win a game.

We look like the 2008 version of the team, Kobe/Gasol pick and roll up top and shooters to spread the floor...I wonder this lineup would look would Pau in there instead of Dwight who shoot that little 12 footer... it would be like bringing back 2008 style ball where Kobe and Pau were killin people with that play uptop

We get a healthy Pau back in a few weeks, and we'll be a pretty good team for an 8th seed.

1. MDA is no Phil, he does not have enough patience for the team recovering themselves.

That's why he was moved to bench before. But we have to reply on his defense. Just hope he can play smarter in offense and take less shots. But if I'm an opponent, I will offer more help to guard Kobe and leave MWP wide open anyway.

wmc: clark and mwp have officially lost their perimeter shots, and that doesn't bode well for the team's offense. leads to hyper kobe ball.

But Dwight is seemingly finding his, so that's a plus.

We get this from Metta every now and then. He's already streaky, but sometimes he's arctic cold. Earl is just tired I think. He's never had to play like this before and now he's not only our starting PF, but our backup C as well? That's hard to do.

If we can get Pau back any time soon Earl will start to come alive again.

I think this team's weaknesses can be covered up as long as we have a balanced offense that is set up to get back in transition.

The Bulls aren't a fast break team and that helped us set the tone defensively. Dwight was a BEAST

Against the Clippers, it's a different story. And that's why we cannot see them in the playoffs. I believe that's the one team we have no chance of beating

^ Although I struggled for minutes, I took it to mean "the answer is in the question".

As in, remove the "?" and there is the answer. But are you surprised?
