I'm complaining that there is not enough people complaining... I get a kick out of reading how far off most of them are.

WMC for preseason game 1. Just not boxing out on rebounds. Other than that I like what I was seeing from these young boys. Some real nice energy.

So happy we signed Farmar again. He was ALWAYS a better backup PG than Steve Blake. Steve Blake has been a miserable experiment for this team. Injury prone, inconsistent shooter and mediocre on defense.

I'll try to come up with something, but right now I'm impressed. See, MDA finally got some kids who can play his style of basketball.

Positives

- Farmar, Young and Xavier Henry did very well

- Elias Harris can play the Matt Barnes role? Comes off the bench after sitting for 3 hours and brings instant energy

- Landry looked solid down the stretch

Negatives

- Kaman is shooting too much

- Hill looked invisible out there

Overall I'd give it a 8 out of 10 for this preseason game. Did not expect this team to look competitive/entertaining at all entering this game. Very surprised and intrigued now. The Warrior's B squad is pretty damn good

The only thing Blake was a little better at than Farmar was defense. Not that it matters, since neither were exceptionally great defenders. In all other areas, Farmar was simply better.

Kaman is shooting too much, because Pau did not play. But yeah, we should improve our rebounding ASAP.

Wesley Johnson aye aye aye. Not a good start for his Laker tenure but he was playing the 4 spot, I dont think he'd do well there so we'll see when he gets his chances in the 2 and 3 spot

I think Meeks may not even get off the bench this year unless its garbage time lol...the 3 shooting guards ahead of him definitely bring more to the table. Henry, Swaggy and injured Kobe

Yeah, some poor rebounding with 'Antoni small lineups, Hill didn't play much or do much, Wes Johnson was really bad, and Young almost fouled out In a half. Other than that, can't really complain.

First thing that came to my mind when I saw Harris play was Matt Barnes. He plays exactly like him and has a hitch in his broken jumpshot as well lol

Wes will improve for sure. So will Hill. I'm not so sure about Meeks at this point.

I'm counting the days until we have a new play by play announcer ...

Nice to see this squad battles , it wasn't pretty but many players seem to be highly motivated/ to prove something.

Yeah being outsized at several positions during significant stretches of the game may be the 1st thing which is going to get on my nerves this season ... we'll see how it goes when the full roster is available

I went through the DVR this morning...

Johnson isn't very good. Young has issues with playing under control. Farmer looks about the same as his previous stint here and it is refreshing to see him again. Shooting the 3 is the only reason Meeks belongs at this level.... And if he isn't hitting he reminds me of Morris. Hill didn't have much of a role.

We won.... So better than last year

You might be too negative there, Roo.

Johnson isn't that bad either. He'll play better. But yeah, he's not a star or anything. MDA tried him at the 4, hopefully he won't do it again. Wes is a 3, plain and simple.

Young -- yes. He's good, but it is exactly what you said.

Farmar is better now then he used to be. Plays much better under control, and his passes are nicer too.

Meeks... yeah. I agree.

Meeks is just a wasted body on the court. If he's not shooting a wide open 3 at his sub par clip, he contributes nothing else.

I hope he doesn't play in the regular season. And I hope him having a guaranteed deal, doesn't mean that we have to cut loose a guy on a non-guaranteed deal (Henry) because we would have a crowded backcourt.

Johnson doesn't know how to play this game.... He's gotten by on athletic ability to this point. 3, 4 ...or whatever, he's constantly mentally a step behind, which makes him out of position most of the time. If he hasn't got it by now I'm not sure he ever will. He will surprise in a game or two, but overall I don't see him blossoming just because he's a Laker. The best case for him is that we can develop him into a change of pace backup for a real NBA level SF.

Farmer didn't look too much different to me..... He had time, which he wasn't afforded under Jackson. I've always liked his offensive game. The other end is where he's always struggled.

Farmar's man defense is going to be what it is. His speed and energy will bring some spark to his defense, but we know he's not a defensive stopper by any means.

That being said....3 steals. I'll takethat contribution to defense. Top it off with 7 assists. He had playmaking ability last time, but as the primary ball handler....not bad for 28 minutes of action. I think he'll sink a couple more shots as well.

Gadzuric is 35yrs old?!!! When did that happen. Time flies.

Too early to get a feel for who will make the team. But, what came to mind is what do we do against teams with bigger interior lineups? Hill is the only real interior defensive presence, even when Pau returns, and he would need to be allowed 10 fouls to man the interior for a whole game.
