My WMC #2: How much I missed how much we fans go either fully overboard for praise or fully overboard for criticism after one game. Damn I missed that. Xavier I hope you are reading all the praise today cause you mess up son its going to be the other way big time.

We need to keep him on the team so we can get at least one championship this year. The NBA slam dunk champion.

Johnson’s foot is the bigger question mark. He told me he’s “OK,” but will see what the MRI says tomorrow.

Xavier Henry has a moderately sprained right wrist. Moderate is the middle of the “mild/moderate/severe” categories. More on that tomorrow.

I swear, this team and injuries. Speaking of Johnson, he's been pretty off so far.

Damn I've been so dialed in to the NFL I completely forgot preseason started. Wish I could watch the games. However the only things id like anyone to inform me on is 1) our defense so far, mostly interior and 2) the play of Farmar which so far some people seem to like.

1. Too early to tell much, the defense overall seems better because of how many more athletes we have, a lot of guys with long arms that are very active. Interior Kaman only played game 1, Pau only played game 2, Hill has been just ok, and Sacre is very good at taking a charge but is no shot blocker. So yeah, Kaman isn't the fastest and can't jump, and Pau was rusty and also can't jump, so I don't expect our interior defense to be great this season. On the perimeter though, Farmar, Johnson, Young, Williams, and Henry have all looked pretty good at times.

2.Farmar didn't play tonight due to being cautious of some "bumps and bruises", but he looked great in game 1. He dished out a bunch of nice passes and should have had a lot of assists (he still had 7) but guys were missing gimmes. He had one assist where he passed the ball to a teammate trailing him by throwing it backwards over his head, really cool no look pass, if you haven't seen it look it up. He also looked like he had his same speed and ability to get to the rim off the dribble, and his leaping ability as he tried to block one fastbreak layup and while he missed, he hit pretty high up on the backboard. He also make some nice defensive plays, like one steal where he caught a guy not looking, reached in from behind and got his arms on the ball and just ripped it away from the guy pretty easy (I forget who it was but it was a bigger player for sure). Lastly, he shot 4 for 10, but he made some nice jumpers and shot with confidence. Really overall he seemed more in control and confident and ran the team really well while he was out there. I expect a good season from him, I like him better than Blake at backup PG, he seems to have matured a lot.

Meeks needs to go.

He's just chucking shots up without moving the ball and gets so easily lost on defense it's horrible.

I wouldn't mind seeing Meeks traded, for a draft pick even. I have nothing against the guy, I just don't see a role for him with Young here now, with Blake probably playing some backup 2, and with hopefully Henry making the team.

He's still okay for depth. Cheap, good kid even though he has turned out to be a stinker.. streaky shooter for a 3rd string guy.

Kobe/Young/Meeks
Johnson/Henry

There's room for him on the end of the bench. Although truth be told, I'd probably rather have DJO.

My WMC is that if Luke Walton is broadcasting then he can't play for the Lakers.

More on what tomorrow?.... the "mild/moderate/severe" categories or the wrist?

Let's see: X, Wes and Young are all hurt right now. Yes, they will be fine before the season starts, but come on. This is getting ridiculous.

WMC: Mark Jackson treating a preseason game like a playoff game, playing Curry, Iggy, Thompson, Lee, and Bogut vs Blake, Henry, Harris, Kelly and Sacre. Come on, this game means nothing, I don't see a need to put starters in to try that hard for a comeback win. Congrats on the meaningless W, Mark, at least in context our preseason record doesn't look so bad.

Blake has been freaking awful, and he has no excuse because he's pretty much split time with the end of the bench and the starters and looked equally bad.

Seriously, that was more than PATHETIC.
But it's OK, we saw that our starters can handle them EASY, 11 points lead was nice, and they all played around 25 minutes and had a lot fun doing it.
I hope Mark Jackson i happy now, total idiot, i would laugh my asss off if some of his starters injured during that trash time.

He looked fine to start, hit his first 3, moved faster than I thought he would, was able to pump fake, get guys off their feet, and go off the dribble a little from there like his college highlights, which I wasn't sure he could do in the NBA. After hitting a 3 late in the 4th though he made a bunch of bad rookie mistakes in a row. But it was his first game so that's almost expected, he was better than Landry already, hell he still didn't look as bad or out of control as Blake even.
