With this type of basketball, fans will have to pay for tacos from now on.

Gonna be a tough game on Sunday. Rockets match up real nicely vs us, Dragic looked like a superstar tonight, I can only imagine what J.Lin would do to Morris. Kobe vs Harden is gonna be fun to watch. But man, Ron is gotta hit those 3s or post up to keep the Rockets honest so that they put Chandler Parsons on him...as good as a defender Harden is , Parsons is even better and he gave Kobe some problems last year. Asik also defends well vs Dwight. Their weaklink is PF no noteable PFs on their team so Pau has to go to work

Tonights Suns game, Pau hit like 5 shots in a row in1st Q and did little else the rest of the game. Didnt have more than 2 postups I think the whole game. We have to put him in the post.

Jeremy Lin has been horrible this season. I'm not concerned about him at all. Lin is only averaging 10 points on a woeful 35 percent shooting a PER of under 15.

Dragic is better player than Lin... the Dragic/Scola combo has killed us for some time now .. I'm not worried about Houston overall

Agreed with everything except about Lin. IMO Dragic > Lin.

If this is our defense the rest of the year (mainly what i saw in the 1st half), we're gonna get bounced in the 2nd round.

it's fun to run up and down the court and jack up shots, but getting stops is also fun.

what happened to that nate mcmillan talk? i don't really care who they bring in, but someone needs to be in charge of the defense.

dragic is a way better player than lin and has killed the lakers over the years

i wouldn't be too worried about lin as he is struggling this season

We still don't get the ball inside enough. It's not like PHX has a formidable frontcourt either. I will keep harping on this until we figure it out but it's been years since we figured out how to do this.

Second this. I don't get the concern about Lin. Well, I understand why there might be a concern over any young PG against our team but you're right Dragic > Lin especially this season.

I see Asik/Patterson and I'm licking my chops since we have D12/Gasol but somehow, I am concerned we're not going to see the domination we SHOULD be seeing against a frontcourt like that.

Actually Phoenix does have a very good front court with Scola, Gortat, and Beasley.

Count me in on this as well. Big time. I get that the staff was trying to start them up with the running thing, but it looks pretty schizophrenic to me for them to go from a more half court type set that we've seen for years with Brown and the one who now must remain nameless for many Laker fans who don't want to hear about him, and this current offense. D' Antoni's not even here yet, so we really can't complain. But last night seemed kind of silly to me. Why do you not use your size advantage at all? And Pau as simply a jump shooter - I don't know if that is going to work. People are harping on him, but he was doing what he was directed to do as far as I could see.

I truly hope that we can find a middle ground. I think D' Antoni should be able to find a way - if he wants to, though, that's the main issue.

I think MDA will find a way. Dwight is just too big of a talent to not fully utilize. Also, we all have to keep reminding ourselves that Dwight isn't 100% yet.

It's not just if MDA wants it............. it's about the 3 stooges in the FO that still think Showtime should dominate the NBA........... even with showtime they dumped it down to Cap when the break wasn't there and worked inside out basketball............. MDA is all about outside-in basketball in which you will see a lot of rock pounding and high screen and roles with our sluggish bigs............. enjoy!

I hope it all works but if they don't use their strengths to their advantage so the Buss family can watch what they think is "pretty" basketball" than it will be hard pressed getting past the second round when you face talented teams actually playing to their strengths rather than their obvious weaknesses........ even the meek can beat the mighty if the meek plays to it's strengths while the mighty stubbornly play to it's faults....

only time will tell I guess...............

Never said they were bad. I said they weren't formidable.

Is your point that Phoenix's front court is formidable?

When you have the NBA's best center, I would expect that you try to find ways to ensure you take advantage of that. Regardless of your feelings about Phoenix, we didn't do that in that game and we haven't really done that for the most part in many games either.

i'll pre-whine: the lakers NEVER show up to play houston, at home or on the road. not sure why, but they save their stinkers for this team. on paper, they should spank them, even without nash. but they won't. i'm guessing they'll be down 15 at some point in the first half.

the key is turnovers. houston won't score that efficiently in the halfcourt, imo. but all those live ball turnovers that this team commits will get converted into points.

i hope i'm wrong, though, as it would be nice to see the lakers hammer this team for once.
