Worst home loss in a playoff game in our history, according to twitter.
"The first time I ever saw my uniform hanging in the locker I put it on right away, and it just felt like I was putting on golden armour. From that day forward, I just called it 'the golden armour', it just felt like there was something mystical and magical about it" - Kobe Bryant.

duncan and parker catching fire from midrange hurt pretty badly. parker's improved that shot the last couple of years, but duncan is still pretty hit and miss out there. he was all hit tonight.

How embarrassing is it to be a Lakers fan right now ...

we get what we deserve ... we still haven't adapted to the league new style .. no development of (young) role players for some years thinking they are interchangeable , running with a washed up ,old and slow core (giving up draft picks for it) in a young , fast and athletic league ...

We are in for a long period of mediocrity with such a poor vision from our management ...and I'm not even talking about how pathetic our latest 2 choices of head coaches have been

I turned the game off early & watched DEN/GS, which did nothing but anger me more. Seeing young athletic cores of Curry, Thompson, Barnes.. Lawson, Faried, Chandler, Brewer, McGee.. Iggy isn't young but he'd still be the most athletic wing on our roster. Athleticism owns this new era, we have a big transformation to go though before this team is ready to contend again. We still have Mitch so I have faith we'll get it done before Bean hangs em up.

Mitch has had YEARS to solve the age and athleticism problem and he hasn't done anything about it. He gets so much praise for getting Dwight but people ignore all the horrible decisions this front office has made that have the Lakers in the position they are in now.

Yeah, it's not hard to see this being the precipice of a dark age for the Lakers. I doubt it lasts longer than 3 season, but there are just too many issues all colliding at once that pose to make the Lakers increasingly irrelevant in today's league as well as kind of stuck with a team and roster of misfit players and aging stars.

It's simply not the roster. The roster is manageable. Well, it was. It's the style of play. We have a @!#$ coach, the players don't believe in him.

Bulls..Spurs..Knicks..they're not exactly young by all means. We just needed to have a style, an identity, a REAL coach to coach this team.

But we don't. It's on Jim Buss for not hiring Phil. simple.

One thing I never liked is how many years we give players...Luke, VladRad, Blake, Metta and now Nash. The way we hand out these commitments is part of why we remain old. Mitch has got to stop doing that and with the new CBA, maybe that changes.

I'm hoping we use our LA connection with Toronto and get Nash to a destination he won't mind going to. Everybody, sans D12, would expire next summer and maybe we can influx the roster with some young FAs.

But I agree with everybody that has said the leadership and philosophy of this team is the problem aka coaching, if you want to call it that.

no commitment to defense = no rings. MDA will never ever ever never ever win a championship. When your defense can't keep you in a game on a night where your offense isn't going you are doomed.

Crowd was chanting "REFEREES SUCK" much of the night. Not sure if it's been going on all season, but it got pretty loud after Dwight's technical foul.

That's awesome. They were complete freaking garbage. I thought they might give us more of a break at home, but it was worse than the last game in SA.

We basically didn't guard Duncan on the perimeter, and I'm pretty sure he made most of his points from midrange. He had a few nice moves inside, but I don't think he missed a single midrange jumper.

Worst home playoff loss! :man10: :bang:
Last 3 playoffs appearances:0-4,1-4, and now likely a 0-4 again! Something has to change!

Can't really blame Mitch - he was just giving the people what they wanted, i.e., immediate gratification.
As Mitch put it, the thinking was that we needed to "win now," i.e., before Kobe's window closed, etc.
