For what it's worth, the Lakers also clinched the Pacific Division, an achievement Bryant dismissed by saying "We don't hang divisions." No, only the big NBA championship banners are considered wall-worthy for the Lakers.

Theres Barnes with his annual injury with the playoffs appraoching...cant believe people wanted him and Fisher (who went 1/21 in a 4gm stretch last week) here. They were let go for a reason

While the effort and result last night was some of the best we've seen..... it was still a near cellar dweller team we beat by a few points...

Not exactly what I'd call an impressive win if you filter it through the lens of where most thought this team would be.

It was nice to see some real effort from guys like Pau and Howard for an entire game..... well for Pau it was only on one side of half court but beggars can't be choosers.....

Mike D'Antoni notoriously known for his lax practices challenged the Lakers to elevate their intensity after a critical win last night over Sacramento Kings. With Metta World Peace sidelined and Kobe Bryant hobbled, Pau Gasol surprisingly led the physical practice. Sources indicated D'Antoni ordered a practice scrimmage which started with a hard foul by Pau Gasol on Jodie Meeks. After a missed rotation on defense by Earl Clark, Gasol stepped up to the 6'8 forward from Louisville and remarked his porous effort on defense.

The 7 foot Forward further indicated how Clark has not been converting his open shots during the game and it has hurt the Lakers. Clark barked back that the team has more wins with him as a starter instead of Gasol this year. Dwight Howard stepped in to separate the two but Gasol lost his cool and blamed Howard's poor free throw shooting for the losses in last week's road trip

Every time the opposing team calls a timeout to stop our run, they come back and score 7 in a row or something. Totally maddening. :bang:

^^ Yeah, the final score of this one was nowhere near indicative of how we played. I saw the same third quarter meltdown that has killed us over and over this year. We're actually lucky that they went to Hack A Dwight down the stretch because that was the difference maker - that put us from 10 points up to 17 and ate up 2 minutes of game time. Props to Dwight for making a decent number in that time and not choking.
