We went from a Blake who is scared to shoot open threes to a Blake with Mamba level confidence after his good 12-13 season

This Warrior team were damn funny, Iguodala played 40 minutes, Lee 38 minutes, Curry 37 minutes, Klay Thompson 36 minutes and Bogut 32 minutes ? hahaha :man10:

^^ That was pretty absurd. I count this game as a win.

Blake and Meeks. Blake needs to play off guard and the PG sparingly. Farmar should be getting all of his minutes. Blake can play some of the SG's and hopefully provide some shooting at the SG position; he can't be any worse then Meeks, right?

Yup, this one was definitely a W for us. We had a double digit lead, and they had to play their starters against our 3rd stringers to win it in the end. Barely.

Bill and Jalen clowning us on Grantland. That's fine, Jalen's most significant achievement was injuring Kobe. I'm still looking for Bill's.

The haters will always take their shots when we are "down", as in not a title contender, which isn't very often. Bill is a Celtics fan so of course he's a hater, and the Lakers took away Jalen's one shot at a ring, so of course he's bitter.

I thought Blake's 0-10 shooting game was a fluke, but outside of 1 half this pre-season he has been darn aweful.

Thank goodness we have Farmar this year.

- Players (especially the bench )have no idea when/how to help and rotate on D ... hopefully it will get adressed, worked on and units will develop defensive habits .

- Game 6 of preseason , I thought it was time to play your ' start of the regular season" rotations and stop experimenting with so many lineups

I don't like Wes at 4, that is bad move by MDA, he can't guard power forwards, just no way that will work in future.
Xavier and Jordan Hill terrible communication on court, they didn't rotate on Klay 2 times in a row, Henry have to be smart, he can't cheat on defense by backing of his man, especially when that guy is sniper like Klay.
First half was nice, but somewhere on a half way of third, everything went wrong, turnovers, no defense, and no solution on offence.
But hey, it's still preseason, but there are a lot mistakes that need to be fixed asap, ONLY 2 more games before season opener.
The second place means you're the first loser

They just can't play Wes at the four. I know D'Antoni would love to make that work on occasion so that we can use Wes to guard guys like LeBron and Carmelo, but it doesn't work against most teams with big, bruising PFs.

We can just have whatever PF is in the game at the time switch and try to force the SF to make a contested jumper. That's fine.

Wes did look better as a whole though. I liked what he did when he wasn't having to guard big players.

It's going to be a long and painful season if what happened in China is any indication. :bang:

Really? Most teams cannot stop the Kaman-Pau combo. We have the size that GS was having trouble with until MDA pulled them out. GS (mostly Jackson) wanted to win those meaningless games. MDA wanted to test the rest of the roster. Not really an indication on how this team will perform this season.

The indication is that we are competitive against some of the best in the West and able to build and sustain leads -- until we start giving "deep bench" guys heavy minutes. Take GS, for example: they are playing their main guys close to 40 mpg to win games. We play our guys just over 20 mpg (Nash plays under 20) -- and of of those "main guys" is named Jodie Meeks. You know who plays a lot of the minutes for us, almost 30? X. Henry (who I like). But come on, you can't seriously compare what MDA is doing here with what Mark Jackson is trying to achieve.

This is not going to happen in the regular season, and if it does because half our players get hurt... then yeah, we're in trouble.

What happened in China doesn't mean much, if anything at all. In the regular season, the end of the end of our bench won't be closing out/playing most of the 4th quarter, the starters will. I also can't imagine the bench will just be left in when a team starts to get a big lead on us when it's still early in a game for the purposes of figuring out who's going to make the team.

Exactly. I don't think I took anything of import really from the China trip. Except to reinforce the things I already knew:

1. Jordan will be valuable this season.
2. Wesley isn't a 4.
3. Landry has no business on this team.
4. Kelly, Harris, and Henry all do have business on this team.

1. Very valuable if Blake keeps shooting like this :man5:
2. He isn't a 2 either...and he's a little erratic dribbling and moving defensively for a 3 :man3:
3. Ditto Meeks :disagree:
4. Darn straight :jam2: Harris and Kelly, in particular, are much more scrappy than I thought they would be when I read the scouting reports on them. They both have good fundamentals, and seem to have a nose for making the good play.
The End is nigh. Time for a total Cut and Shuffle. Kobe contract was a mistake...time to avoid making more. The future is here, whether we want it to be or not. An era is over, but for the death rattle, and it's time for the cycle to begin anew. Growth and change are scary and painful, but alas...nothing worth achieving comes easily.

Blake won't keep being THAT bad because nobody is that bad. He'll be fine for the team as our primary backup 2 guard alongside Farmar at the 1. Wesley is a good defender, an alright rebounder, and moves well without the ball. His handles are nonexistent though and no matter what D'Antoni wants, he'll never be a 4. Meeks is a good kid, but he's not really an NBA caliber player. I agree on those kids. They're both NBA level players, although I don't think they're quite ready yet. Over the next week I hope we see a lot of them in games so that they can get their beaks wet.

They're perfect for D-League stashes.
