WMC 12/13: Mercy kill. (0-4)

Other than everything that's already been said, I'd like to add those touch fouls they called on Kobe when he was guarding Durant.
Even though I felt the game was pretty much lost, I loved to see Kobe take Durant to try and stop him, being physical and not backing down. Kobe's D has been suspect this whole season with the exception of a few sequences or stretches, and it was an encouraging sight. Of course the refs had to ruin it all, had to protect their golden boy KD.
I hate that, it seems you can't really body up and be physical against some guys. They are so skilled and athletic, without being allowed to seriously get up on them you won't stop them. Being agressive is a great way of trying to do that, not only looking to take them out of their comfort zones and alter shots but also to get in their heads. The refs didn't allow it. A shame.

Durant is gunna get a ton of calls anywhere he plays especially his own home court. I thought the refs were a little strict against us with all the offensive fouls and such. I think it just came down to defense. they were shooting extremely well. Westbrook had no one to guard to all his energy was shown on offense. When Nash is back he'll have to chase him around all game and Nash is gunna school him and make him look silly sometimes as Westbrook will do to him athletically.

I think not having Pau also was bad thing for us. He may not be playing as well as he can be this season but he sure helps our team win games and thus putting Jamison on the bench to give us the spark we needed on O sometimes. Pau's length also bothers a lot of their rim shots even though he doesnt get a lot of blocks.

I wasnt mad about the game at all actually. I thought it would have been way worse than it was. I wasnt expecting anything but the team fought hard and never quit and got it within 5. a missed free throw or 2 for okc or a stupid ghost foul against us taken away and we could have gotten even close. Still think Kobe needs to score less and create more...the correlation is more than just a coincidence now. Dwight and awesome and other than on D, Meeks and Duhon really played well. Meeks needs to get more touches when hes in but that was up to Kobe in the end and really just was looking for himself or dwight occationally.

just gotta pick up the transition D and helping and it'll be better. really thought the game without nash and pau and the way this team has been up and down, i thought it would have been way worse

2-8 in our last 10 games against OKC ( regular season and playoffs) , 0-5 in OKC ... and only 2 of these 8 losses were close games ( well at least both were playoffs games )

To be honest i didnt expect nothing else in this game and to be down just 6 is great...we play without 2 player form starting 5 and we also play against the officials so i am satisfied.....i already forgot this game.....in the next 10 games I think we would have 8 wins....i can see them winning vs jazz, cavs, wizards, Philly, Cats, GSW, Knicks and portland and we lose games at Knicks and Denver....17-13 after this one, ok maybe we lose vs Philly but I think that Howard, without Bynum will dominate against them.

Yeah Kobe at Westbrook's age pretty much earned the right to do and say whatever he wanted, still. By the way Russell shot 12-26, Kobe 11-24, Russell's offensive approach is pretty much similar. If he feels like dominating he'll do it, doesn't matter if he takes most of the shots opposed to Durant or not, same with Kobe. Still it's not some spectacular indication of surprassing Kobe, or LeBron, or whatever. If Kobe came out in today's league maybe being presumed a douche wouldn't be so bad as long as he played great and dominated, and people wouldn't hold the "ball hog" black cloud over him. I said maybe lol.

Most lakers fan being 2 optimistic with the "the winning streak starts hear after the loss to OKC and a win at New Orleans"

WEll he deserves to be hated on. The douchebag got away with murder all night. I wouldn't go with the "no true basketball skill" cause the guy can play. Is he as good as he thinks he is? No, not to me. But the hate he receives is very warranted imo.

Stopped watching at about 8 min left in the 2nd. We were down 1. WTF happened in that second quarter when they put up 41 pts? Pretty much we lost because of it.

Westbrook is a stud. When he has his jumper going, he is nearly impossible to guard. We don't have anybody that can stop him or Durant. Heck, neither does the rest of the league. Turnovers plagued us again and too many easy buckets we allowed. 28 fastbreak pts.

Getting 18 minutes of Ebanks/Morris......0 points, 0/6 FG, 1 TO really killed us. We got production everywhere else, but these two knuckleheads.

Morris picking his dribble up multiple times last night behind the 3 point line was really annoying.

i had a slight hope for morris when he had a few good games in a row but he regressed alot... to where he helps this team by just staying on the bench... cant wait till when nash comes back so our point guards will be nash and duhon...

At least we aren't the Hornets, we essentially came out of the deal with Nash/D12, the Hornets have a maxed out perennially injured player, a role player(Aminu) and Austin Rivers to show for themselves.

to be fair they also got anthony davis too. with the package we were giving them (along with Houston) they would have won more games and it would have been less likely that they would have gotten the #1 pick.

It's sad to know there is little defense against extreme talent.

^ they were getting the no.1 pick no metter what.
