WMC 12/13: Mercy kill. (0-4)

Here we are again! Last year finished with a fizzle for the second straight playoffs in a row. Lakers fans all over the world were screaming for everyone’s head on a platter and then some. The fan base was divided on who should go, who should stay and who should just retire. OKC and Heat fans paraded around with carefree abandon as the Kings of the NBA were once again thwarted by the young guns. The “Old Lion” had seemed to make its last stand in a futile attempt to hold on to glory. ESPN pundits went on a frenzy proclaiming the Heat as the team to beat for the next century in a half or something close to it. In the West the reigns were firmly passed to the foursome of the small market and even LA was now home to the new kings of LA the Clippers. Yes, the future looked bleak at the closing of the Lakers season but as it was said, “The mighty may fall but they are never out”. Enter Mitch!

Before the NBA could respond, before Mark Cuban could get on his bib and complain, before Kobe and Co finished off the world to get that Olympic Gold medal and even before Michael Phelps finished a 50 meter swim the Lakers did the unimaginable….. Jamison, Nash, Howard….. The first name was only a little splash, the second name was a shocker and the third was fist dripped in purple and gold exploding out of the coffin lid and through the dirt in the moon light. The Lakers, the mighty Lakers, were resurrected in a flash. The magic wand of Mitch reached across the states and made the Andrew for Dwight trade, he winked at a Tinkerbelle and out of Neverland came Nash, and just for good measure he found Jamison in need of a home. A new hungry cast of characters have put on the battle gear, slapped on the camo and said, “lets go!”
Today starts the preseason and as most here know it doesn’t start till we have the WMC thread! For the newbies who have jumped in and said, lets have some of that Lakers Love I’ll explain the WMC.

This thread is for just that to whine, moan and complain about all things Lakers especially game stuff. You think Kobe should of passed the ball to the cutting Howard. Put it here. The refs are killing us on the offensive end. Put it here. Mike Brown has the ugliest suit on in the history of coaching. Put it here. Got Fios like I do and can't see the dame games. PUT IT HERE! (Yup, that's the first WMC). In short, this is where we Whine, Moan and Complain about it all. (Disclaimer: Just because you whine in here does not mean someone won’t challenge your point).

The new season is on us friends and followers of the Lakers and it is time to start that title run.

Looks like our starters are going to play heavy minutes again this season

I know it's a pre-season game but a 28-0 run is no bueno. its still our team when the starters are out

Also it's crazy how few calls are going our way. Not that they're all bad calls but we're fouling on almost every possession.

No worries. Our bench isn't this bad. Half the guys on the floor are just camp invites and will not make the team. The bench isn't going to play together as a unit, I'm sure they'll be at least 2 starters out there with them at all times.
