Its called tanking, and it worked. We didnt tank hard enough tonight, thus we won a critical game that we needed to lose.

actually its Mike Brown sitting a player that has been considered a problem for the team. Mike B may be a lot of things but he is consistent when it comes to that.

I'm not gonna complain about a win, but I will praise our guys for playing hard, sharing the ball extremely well, and holding the Sixers to 34 second half points, and finally keeping a team under 100 points. Scoring balance

Nash - 19
Kaman & Wes - 17 each
Kelly - 15
Hill & Blake - 14 each

That's some nice balance, that was fun to watch.

^ Please don't reward Cleveland with a #1 overall pick. These guys are so spoiled. #1 pick for LeBron, #1 pick for Kyrie, #1 pick last year, #4 pick(Waiters), #4 pick(Thompson) and now they are trying to still tank and get tyhe #1 pick? GTFO with that crap. We deserve the #1 pick. We are a huge market, and the NBA and buisness do well when the Lakers do well. Give the Lakers the damn #1 pick...they've earned it!!!

We're on FIRE!!! Could go on the first 4-game winning streak this season! :jam2: :jam2: :jam2: :jam2:

I like MDA. If we could win with 4 players, I'd say give MDA another year to coach a hopefully healthy club.

There's no way we can tank as well as those eastern teams. They're too good at it. Over the last 15 years west got only 4 #1 pick.

No complaints. In a PG dominated offense, we see the difference in quality of play on the basketball floor when we finally get our point guards back. It was one of the few games I had fun watching.

If we don't get Embiid, Wiggins, Exum , then next year is going to be nothing looking forward to. Hey idiots,...Kevin Love is a free agent in 2015. How about you bastards stop winning games, so we can add a nice cornerstone piece to the table to entice him, and to help carry on the legacy after Kobe calls it a day. Anything other than those 3, and I will be one pissed off Laker fan. Trade up if need be, but you damn well better get one of these guys.

^just out of curiosity, how do you propose the lakers trade up if we don't get a top 3 pick, or exum is gone by number 5 or 6?

also, for the record, i'd rather take parker than exum. i've seen parker play a number of games and have seen his strengths and weaknesses at this point. i've seen some exum highlights against some lower level australian players.

Couple things. First off youre forgetting Jabari Parker. Outside fo those 4 youre right there may not be that much to look forward to.

Bottom line is we need a top 4 pick at the worst. Our goal should be to get Embiid but im a little scared because of how many big men flop when drafted that high. But to be honest I have never watched a live game of Embiid, so I cant fairly judge him.

By the way there is absolutely no way we will be trading up in the draft as no team would be stupid enough to help us like that. Not to mention, we have nothing to offer.

F this! Win every game possible. Tanking is for losers! Draft is lottery- Kwame, Oden, Bennett, you name it...Fire MDA, trade Gasol, retire Nash, get the pieces we need. Love- yes, Melo- no! :jam2:

Bad luck mostly, but to try and come up with some reasons I'd say

Lakers went from being one of the youngest rosters to one of the oldest between 09 and today, they've signed a handful of journeymen players who are essentially bodies for hire who have been bounced around the league but never had the benefit of being with a dedicated team long enough to ensure their overall conditioning and health is in a good place(some franchises are notoriously less reliable than others in this department). This is in conjunction with the coaching changes going from a team that prided itself on playing a structured and careful style of basketball to Mike Brown's whatever the heck Mike Brown thinks is basketball to Mike D'antoni's clown-ball. Health and longevity in this game are heavily influenced by consistency and clearly defend expectations and commitments. The Spurs are the text book example of this where you have players who are so in tune with what they need to be doing that their individual risks are mitigated as much as possible. Contrast that to the Lakers revolving door of starters, D-league call-ups and whatever else, on any given night any given player is having to exert themselves that much more and try and show up in a way that they may or may not be truly prepared for.

One thing that stands out to me is how most of the injuries this season have not been anomalous, once-in-a-career type fluke injuries(like say having a teammate collide into your knee, dislocating it type thing) the fluke is that they've all occurred on top of one another which I think if you peer into the circumstance of this team over the past few years, you can come up with a couple of thoughts as to why that's happened.

Then there is Vitti. I don't mean to blame him, I think he is very good at what he does, but I do question sometimes if he and his staff have stayed on the cutting edge of treatment and therapy options. As fans we always tend to assume that the millions of dollars of medical resources at their disposal should always be as sharp and effective as possible but we see it across the league all the time when training staffs are using antiquated methods or otherwise seemingly less competent than you'd expect they should be. It is possible that where Vitti and his team were exemplary 5-6 years ago they've since slipped in some way or another.

Went to the game tonight. Wow. That was pathetic. Seventeen point loss at home to the 2nd worst team in the conference (now leapfrogged us for third worst)? Ouch.

Nash teased everyone with a decent first quarter showing but then couldn't really go any more. When Wes Johnson isn't dunking the ball on a break he's basically useless. Bad instincts and effort on D, too many bad shots from distance and too many missed shots at the rim. Also gets stripped when he tries to drive. Williams is still awful, sadly. Wish we had Manny Harris instead who actually had some promise. Marshall has really taken a nose dive. His confidence must be shot with Nash and Blake back, because he just looked terrible out there. Hill had a bad game unfortunately as well.

The only guy who played with heart and showed his talent was Kaman who did a great job. Even the shots he missed looked good and came in and out. 25 and 14, hell yeah. Screw Mike Antoni's doghouse.

Oh yeah, at the end of the game there was a cool group of hardcore Laker homies in their jerseys who were chanting "We want Phil!" which I thoroughly appreciated, especially after having to watch Antoni have one of his patented hissy fits at the refs tonight. Man, we used to laugh at this guy when he was with the Suns. Now we have to watch him every game? So wrong. So incredibly wrong. What a doofus.
