Johnson's defense was rock solid. He hit a 3 pointer too, I dont think we can look to him when it comes to offense as long as hes defending, rebounding, hustling.

yea wes was pretty awful offensively the entire game. i did forgive him though for hitting a big three that took us over the bubble and shifted momentum into high gear.

If they continue to play like this we will see the Media start talking about "how will Kobe mess this team up?"

Sadly, that's true, and we might even hear how Kobe held us back last season.

Johnson was just short of Ebanks bad. His defense wasn't that good and he had 4 fouls.... all when he was out of position or reaching.

Agreed.

As much as I'm not loving our chances this season as a whole, I am strangely optimistic for tonight's game. We always seem to do well in season openers, and this just reminds me of the season opener in 2006 when Kobe was out with a lingering recovery from knee surgery and a band of misfits beat the heavily favored championship-contending Phoenix Suns on our home court behind Lamar Odom's 34, 13 & 6. Does Pau have it in him to lead us to a similar upset victory without Kobe suiting up? We'll see...

Nick Young is a lost cause, and he is what he is, A flashy shot jacker with little substance. It's sad because I really want to like the guy, but his shot selection is beyond horrid, and he still doesn't pass the damn ball. Also, that turnover where he dribbled the ball off of his foot when he was trying to dribble between his legs was flat out embarrassing.

He belongs on the bench, and I want to see a lot more Xavier Henry.

I didn't see this post before, that's one of my favorite regular season Lakers games of all time. I especially loved the highlight video Cachooka did with Thriller as the music, haven't seen that in a while.

Wesley missed 10 shots ... one dunk , most ofthe others hit the back of the rim ... I'm not sure how it is possible to miss so badly on a regular basis

103 points allowed. 49FG% for the Clips. 19 turnovers.

We won this game because of 3 areas. Rebounding (52 boards, 18 offensive), 3pt shooting (48%3pt, 14-29), and the Clippers playing pretty poor defense themselves.

IMO, we cannot win games consistently by depending on 3pt shooting and rebounding. We need to create more opportunities near the rim, rotate on defense in the half-court, and run back on transition D.

he needs to start working on his game because as it stands now, he is going to be useless without the athleticism.

I'll admit, I didn't see this one coming at all. Jordan Farmar was outplaying Chris Paul out there. Our bench came through.

We can't expect our bench to play like that every game. Our starters, especially Pau, need to step up. We're not going to hit half our 3's every game.

Pau played very well last night in the limited minutes he was in there. Maybe you're meaning continue to step up and it didn't come across that way.

Wes missed some pre season games so I'll wait to see what he does after he settles in. I'd like to see more mid range shots from him and a little arc on his shot.

Also I'd like to see him at the SF instead of PF?

That was um...ugly. I know Lakers can play better than that, Warriors especially Klay just couldn't miss and we couldn't hit the sidewalk with a penny even if we were standing on it. Oh well.

After 2 games our new players results are mixed. Henry looks to be developing.... Johnson has been horrible on both ends.... Farmar looks more poised than in his first stint in P&G.... Young is what he's always been which isn't really all that good overall.... Williams is waiting for a chance to play PF against a non allstar and Kaman is still a serviceable center that knows the game.

I was surprised last night.... tonight not so much other than the expectations from last night.
