why do so many guys act like kobe s days are gone. even these people that call themselves fans of kobe. i don t get it. he has 2 maybe 3 very good years left and we have to wait and see if he retires and when . he still one of the best and he is still athletic and got hops espicially when you see his age. so for me it s to early to kiss him goodbye . it s way to melancholic about kobe here that most of guys reacting. right now he is still here and he is still one of the best in the league. so i enjoy every minute that he plays till he retires and i will not be that melancholic like so many here about kobe. because kobe s day are far away from over. :jam2:

Who is acting like Kobe's days are gone? Nobody is.

Some people are acting like Kobe's BEST days are gone though. And they are.

Why do you always make it seem like you're the only remaining Kobe fan left?

Its crazy. Kobe has always been able to score alot. But I don't think i've seen kobe score so effortlessly over the last 5 games in the past few years. It looks to come so easy for him recently. He scored 33 without seeming to break a sweat. Would have scored maybe 40 on 25 shots if he played the 4th. AND he missed a bunch of free throws last game. Its just unreal. This recent stretch reminds me of Durant just on how effortless scoring seems to come to him.

Kobe Bryant is on track to finish with the highest effective field-goal percentage of his 17-year career.

https://twitter.com/dexterfishmore/status/307621073787183104

He has a shot to finish with the highest true shooting percentage of his career. He also leads the league in minutes played.

https://twitter.com/dexterfishmore/status/307621513715146754

AS WELL, he has a good shot to finish with the highest assist rate of his career.

https://twitter.com/dexterfishmore/status/307622074296442880

No doubt his defense has slipped considerably, but Kobe's offense is still close to career peak levels. He's 34 years old.

Also fun: Kobe's averaging over 27 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 assists as of now. At 34, he'd be the oldest player to ever reach those marks.

https://twitter.com/forumbluegold/status/307628406814679040

The next oldest players to hit the 27, 5, and 5 threshold were Larry Bird & John Havlicek. Both were 31.

https://twitter.com/forumbluegold/status/307628527098941441

Only players to hit 27, 5, and 5 who were 30 or older? Bird, Havlicek, and Rick Barry.

Nice. He's getting some real recognition.

BTW GoldenKnight, I do like the nickname "Vino", I think it's kinda cool.

My initial reaction to the "Black Mamba" label was alot worse, and somehow that one stuck, so who knows.....

Black Vino.

Eh. Sounds vaguely racist.

Maybe he should combine the two as in, he's not just any type of vino, he's black mamba wine, one that not only gets better with age but also hits you powerfully with speed and agility?

I think Kobe would be a great analyst. I think he'll do something in films though. He's teamed up with Robert Rodriguez in the past, and I could see that being something he really gets into.

SLAM: There was a photo circulating on the Internet of you and Kobe talking during All-Star, what did you guys talk about?

Shaq: We were just laughing. You know, I think it’s a real misunderstood misconception that we hate each other. They don’t understand that it’s business. You either focus on the relationship or focus on the task. And I was focused on the task. So whenever you have two Alpha Males like me and Kobe, you’re going to disagree from time to time, but we never hated each other. When I see him and his wife and his beautiful daughters, it ain’t like we’re gonna go to blows. We had words, we had beef, but when you look at what we’ve done on the court, we’re the most dominant little man, big man ever. Ever created. I don’t care who you put us up against. We were the most dominant little man guard to big man in the League. And if I had it to do all over again, I’d do it the same way. Create the drama, create the press, and create the arguments. We won three out of four and that’s all that matters. We had a good laugh and it ain’t really nothing to talk about. I think a lot of the stuff was more about the media because they got tired of talking about our dominance. They had to come up with something else. Oh, they don’t like each other. But obviously we liked each other enough to win three out of four.

He and Dwight can be so similar. :man10:

Stop lying Shaq! You guys hated each other at one point. That's not really hard to see or understand. "I have one more than Shaq" doesn't come from nothing.

But I do think these things tend to get overrated a bit.

Shaq: If I was a guard that’s how I wanna be

Yet as I watched him Monday, I could not help think how little it mattered and how right he is. He is not fading into the shadows. He does not know how to go out that way.[.]

Awww what a cutie pie. If Kobe grew his facial hair out and his hair back he'd look the same, well except for his lack of hairline but they have Rogaine for that.
