Truly heroic effort by Kobe. I don't know... that leg of his and the bone spur... that worries me probably more then it worries him.

He needs to rest those legs. Not sure when/how that happens, but he's going to keep missing late shots if he keeps playing minutes like this.

maybe play him in spurts? Play 5 minutes come out, play another 5 minutes, come out and sit out every last min of each Q. I dont know. I hope they come up with some plan

That's not going to do it, Rock. He's going to have to shut it down from game situations for a few days. Two days off before Dallas. That will help. Two more days off before Memphis. Another day off. Then five games in 8 days. That's going to be killer.

And who will replace him if he's resting? Meeks? I don't think so. Blake? Possible if he's on, but then you'll see Morris and Duhon playing heavy minutes. Ouch.

I will cry when Kobe is done, I'm sure of it. It's not fair that he has to go out like this. Of course, he's not blameless, but the whole team is a mess from the FO down to the coaching down to the players. I hope a miracle happens this offseason to give Kobe one last chance at a ring.

if you're hoping for a miracle, hope for one sooner than the offseason :man10:

Hahaha, yeah, I guess it's just easier for me to hope for change after this nightmare season ends. We'll see, anything can happen.

The miracle that needs to happen is for all our scrubs, from Meeks to MWP and Blake to hit their shots. They're never going to play any defense, so we have to pray their shots fall in 2011 Mavericks style.

Kobe said he could play longer that one or two more seasons, but it's up to if he wants to. He said he could become a PG and avg 12 ast

That would be cool
Regardless of stats, if he could pull off the full-time role switch and become a true PG, that would be awesome

I don't know...I don't think it would be very pretty. His TOV% since taking over the offense at the end of January has been absolutely brutal and in 04-05 the last season he played in without the triangle and had a lot of ball handling duties he posted a career high in TOV%.

He's getting his assists but at the cost of turning the ball over a lot more. He has always been a great passer but it's just not who he is.

Great effort .. finally took care of the ball

Kings were pretty dumb to double him though , it's obvious he couldn't shoot with the foot injury

Well you can't just speculate based entirely on how he's played so far. If he were to 'become' a PG, he would obviously work extremely hard to improve and fine tune that particular style of play, and I assume he'd get better in terms of facing pressure and avoiding turnovers..

I don't think he meant it though.. I just think it'd be cool. I bet he wouldn't be playing more than 30 minutes a game, and if he managed to stay healthy and our chemistry improved, I could see his turnovers not being that much of a problem

Kobe HAS to retire at the end of next season ... obviously a legendary player but we have to retool and get younger ... no interest in prolonging the current mediocrity with old players

We may be terrible for some seasons after he retired but we won't ish with old Kobe as our best player .

It's time to look for our next 1st option to play next to D12

We also learned in the Lakers locker room that Wilt went to high school with Kobe's grandma and asked her to prom. Shot down

the reason he had to play for the whole game is because of the bonespur. If sat and rested it would have gotten stiff. He need to keep playing to keep it loose.
