worst draft pick

worst draft pick

Postby JSM on Sat Jun 07, 2003 12:05 am

Since the draft is coming up shortly I was wondering...in your opinion who has been the worst daft pick the Lakers have picked, and then who would be the worst free agent we have signed? just a couple of questions...that I was curious about what answers would arise.

Hey about about Frankie King!!!!!! A second rounder in 94 or 95, I think!!
Jerry West though that he would be good, I guess the master also makes a mistake at some point.

worst draft pick

Wasn't Frankie "injured" the entire season? I think sad Sam at least played a few minutes, probably as many as Jack Haley.

In life, the only guarantees are death and taxes. In the NBA, the only guarantees are overrated free agents and bad draft choices...

How bout the Soumaila Samake as a free agent signee? LMAO

First-round picks since Magic was chosen in 1979. Somehow David Rivers, Sam Jacobsen, Ken Barlow, Earl Jones, Mike Mcgee, and Brad Holland slipped past the Logo's all-knowing presence. The jury is still out on the Jefferies/Rush trade all though right now its not looking good.

2002 -- Chris Jefferies, Fresno State
2001 -- None
2000 -- Mark Madsen, Stanford
1999 -- Devean George, Augsburg (Minnesota)
1998 -- Sam Jacobson, Minnesota
1997 -- None
1996 -- Derek Fisher, Arkansas-Little Rock
1995 -- None
1994 -- Eddie Jones, Temple
1993 -- George Lynch, North Carolina
1992 -- Anthony Peeler, Missouri
1991 -- None
1990 -- Elden Campbell, Clemson
1989 -- Vlade Divac, Partizan Belgrade
1988 -- David Rivers, Notre Dame
1987 -- None
1986 -- Ken Barlow, Notre Dame
1985 -- A.C. Green, Oregon State
1984 -- Earl Jones, District of Columbia
1983 -- None
1982 -- James Worthy, North Carolina
1981 -- Mike McGee, Michigan
1980 -- None
1979 -- Magic Johnson, Michigan State
Brad Holland, UCLA

Man, what we would give to get a Divac, Elden, Peeler, Lynch, or Eddie Jones back to the Lake Show.

yeah i gotta admit we made some STUPID trades back then... we never should have given up eddie and elden... the only one that was DEFINITELY worth it was divac for KB. look where we'd be without Mr. Logo's expertise...

Slava laughed at the suggestion his skills might be affected by the down time. "Are you kidding?" he said. "Basketball is like ball. It's all a circle."

BEST VIDEO EVER ... AND AND THE SECOND BEST.

Yeah Divac for Kobe was a great move. I remember Bill Walton saying at the time, "Well Divac had his chance to win rings following Kareem and Wilt as the Laker center, now get em out of there and get Shaq rolling".

What is Jerry West thinking with the picks of Ken Barlow in 86 and David Rivers in 88, both from Notre Dame. Jerry, Notre Dame was a football school, not a basketball school in the 80s.
