Would you replace George w/ Artest

Would you replace George w/ Artest

Postby Laker brain on Fri Jun 06, 2003 2:57 pm

I would replace George w/ Artest

These are reasons why to do it

1) Younger w/ more potential
2) Plays hard and intense
3) Was 2nd in Steals per game
4) Big- 6'8 245lbs
5) Better Stats
6) Better Player
7) Will be an All-Star

These are the reasons why not to do it

1) Bad attitude
2) Cost more $$$
3) Doesn't know the triangle
4) Bad reputation
5) Ref's don't like him

All in All I'd pull the trade in a millisecond.

As would I, but let me assure, this trade WILL NEVER HAPPEN! Artest is the best thing the Pacers got going for them right now, why would they want to trade him?

That's like brining back a pre-mature Rodman. We don't need problems, we need motivation and talent. Remember, that was only George's 3rd year. He's getting real good, real quick... I don't like the trade at all...

Because unlike Artest, George leads in experience...

Plus remember, it took Artest 3 or 4 years to really develop as well...

Deaven George has played 4 years in the NBA, and he has 3 rings already...

Plus look how much he stepped up in playoffs, despite his injury...

Keep George! We don't need to trade him for a nut case. Artest is a bad seed and we don't need any of his drama.

Nah...I woudn't put Artest in replace of George... Artest is a SG, not a F like Devean. Artest can match with really any one at the 2 spot, but he'll get too frustrated at the F position. He has a REALLY bad temper, and despite that, he's a great competitor, and a great baller... Most players don't even show the emotion for the game that he does, but players also use this to intice fights, which is sad. But that's the way it goes...

L-Gyrl actually they played him at SF as a starter with Miller as the SG in that team. Artest has a physical body, just like Malik Rose. So SF is not a bad position for him. I agree with you that he can also play SG.

George for Artest????

I'm about to apologize to L-Gyrl, L-Chick, and lalgirl for what I'm about to do since they all love Devean, but...........

.......I would take Artest!!!!!

I love his D and his mean streak. We need someone to protect Kobe in terms of an enforcer.

See I love Artest's game too, but not for what Devean has brought to the Lakers for so long...

Don't get me wrong I think Devean will be really good some day, but at this point, at this moment I would take Artest. Eventually in the future, Devean will be the better player.

I can understand. Artest is good but he would bring the Lakers organization down. He gets into the game too much. During almost all the 2002-2003 season his behind was suspened.

He was tripping because the Pacers had that melt down on the standings and he was upset. They had the best record on the league on one point, then they totally collapse and he was frustrated. When they were playing great on the first half of the regular season, many reporters had him as a lock on the all-star game. It was an upset that he was not on the all star team for his regular season first half numbers. When he plays great, he plays great. I don't think that he will be a headcase with the Lakers. He was just frustrated due to their very long losing streak. I don't see that long of a losing streak happening to the Lakers.

But players shouldn't let the game be too much that they cant handle... Artest did so much, and he has a lotta heart, but he'll bring the Lakers down in clutch games, cuz he cant handle them yet, emotionally! :man1:

Artest is a way WAY better baller than George. The only problem is that he's a nutt. We've still got Phil to deal with nutt's though so I'd replace Jorge with Artest in a heart beat.

Artest can do everything George can do, plus he is 100x better at creating his own shot and being aggressive in the post. This is a no brainer if it comes to on court production.

No way it happens though. Indiana can get much more for Artest if they were shopping him.

Then if that trade was goin to happen, then we should just throw away our hope for a forward, right?? Artest plays the 2 position, and he'll get too into the fact that bigger men are always gonna be against him. He takes the game too serious, but he has tons of drive, he just doesnt know how to put it all together to control his emotion. George turned into a player that we neva thought possible since he rarly played his 1st few seasons, but who knows what he has in store as a Laker.

Artest is a 3. He is everything George if not more (all-D), and he can create his own shot. Plus he is an absolute terror in the post for other 3's.

Don't get me wrong, he's a great baller, but his emotion is too risky as a Laker. He gets too involved and takes matters too personal.. Once he gets all that under control, then he'll be a threat to any team, cuz he hustles, and does everything in his power to win.

George and Artest have also both been in the league for 3 years. George was the 23rd pick in the 99' draft and Artest was the 16th pick

no I hear you...Artest is a nutt, but Phil has been known to control nutt's and get unreal production out of them (see Rodman). Plus Artest has gone on record about Kobe being his boy on the best damn sports show period.

George has been with the same team since his rookie season, Artest has been with 2. George has 3 rings, Artest has none...
