Xavier Henry experienced some soreness in his knee today from yesterday's workout. He will not play tomorrow night vs. CLE.

Mike Trudell ‏@LakersReporter 6m
Henry will continue to do non-weight bearing workouts for the next several days, but will not ramp up his workouts.

He has to pass the Mad Dog test if he wants to play again. He failed.

For what it's worth, the Lakers also clinched the Pacific Division, an achievement Bryant dismissed by saying "We don't hang divisions." No, only the big NBA championship banners are considered wall-worthy for the Lakers.

What the hell bro?? :bang:
Seriously, if this is not showing you that we have really really serious problem with our medical stuff, i don't know then what it is. Just look at Xavier example, at first they told it's not serious and he will be sidelined for 7-10 days, and that was on December 31 if i remember well , now is almost February :man4:
With another 2 weeks, that will almost be 6 WEEKS , are you serious?? :bang:
Kobe will come back before Xavier with fractured knee :man3:

X is historically a slow healer.. Our training staff needs to step their HGH game up if we're ever going to compete with Miami.

Well we just got him for the vet. min next season. I can't see a team giving him anything substantial after missing this much time.

This medical staff always seems to be dealing with "slow healers" all the time.

I really doubt, Henry was gonna affect our W's and L's he was barely avging 10PPG... he was basically a no body before he had his moments here... I'm guessing he will leave this summer anyways.

Yeah I doubt a team will take that risk on him. Better for us if he returns as part of our bench mob next year anyways.

I agree. He is going to be very cheap. Him, Marshall, Farmar... we'll have to pay Young some $$, but probably not too much. We will have an opportunity to build an awesome bench for next to nothing.

I don't know, even though he has been out a long time it is just a bone bruise. I wouldn't be too surprised if another team ponied up some more money outside of the vets min. to try and sign him.

I'd like to agree but I think we will be looking for a home run again and go a few weeks into FA before we make any moves...... Hill and Young will be gone in the first day or two. We may get X again but injury is becoming pretty common for him.

As fot this injury..... It's not much different than Drews first knee injury. That took half a season to recover from.

True, I had forgot that this is how Drew's first knee injury was.

What a depressing thread this is. Such a bummer. It just reminds me how much I enjoyed watching X earlier this year. He was a real bright spot. Honestly, the Lakers are almost unwatchable at this point. X was fun to watch and to root for.

Even if his scoring average was only 10PPG, he was able to play defense. Something we haven't seen for a while now. Whoever comes back from injury except Kobe, is not a heavy scorer but it gives us better rotation, deeper bench and removes Meeks from the PG spot.

Xavier Henry is having his R knee drained Wednesday and will receive a cortisone shot. He'll be out another 4 weeks, per the Lakers

Shut him down. Also, I believe he has a prior injury history with the New Orleans Hornets at only 22. Do we still re-sign?

Gotta love ours medical staff predictions. Nothing like those 2-4 weeks injuries that later become "half a season things".

Another 4 weeks? Of course, we knew that and said it before.

He's going to be cheap, which is good. I don't doubt he is going to fully recover though. He's young.

We need to do something about our medical staff though. I don't think this is acceptable anymore.

yeah, all of this isn't super bad. Just means that he will come cheap and we can sign him on a minimum or short term deal to see if he can really pan out.
