Fri. 2/20 vs. 76ers - Results Inside - Postgame comments

Postby Lakers Dynasty 2000 on Fri Feb 20, 2004 8:13 pm

6:40 left in the 1st.

Lakes - 10
Sixers - 4

The Lakers look very good. They're playing good defense and distributing the ball around very well. It's good to see early in this game.

59-51...This one is getting kinda close. Lakers look really good. Shaq and Kobe = :man13::man1::bow:

halftime, i'm sure were up by 8 or 9. Nice alley-oop from fish to shaq! we look like we're getting better, but STILL we need our role players to do good, we already know shaq and kobe can do what they do.

Haha! Sorry, but let me break-it-down at halftime for you guys.

For the first time in a long time, they're playing at a championship calubar level.

- Defense
- Offense
- Passing
- Setting people up (Payton, Kobe)
- Shaq

They're playing very well. The Lakers are setting the tone by defense. It's very good to see. They should keep this up to cruise to an easy win. I expect them to win by 16+

By the way, Shaq looks explosive. These are very good signs late in the season.

Lakers lead at the half 59-51....Sixers came back though...but we played well, they just hit some tough shots at the end...And we held AI pretty well down to his slacking numbers....We blew a 17-point lead and the momentum is now in Philly's side, but we can't give away this game...Philly is playing back-to-back and they're starting to heat up...just look at Glenn Robinson...letting them score 51 points in the half is inexcusable...but nice efforts on both ends of the court and they seem to be gelling it up well...Shaq and Kobe, and Gary and everyone else is getting into it

Question: What are PFs averaging against us since Malone's injury? I wanna say damn need 18 ppg... :disagree:

Well basketball is a game of runs and Philly made a tremendous run at the end. It's ok though because halftime will slow down their momentum (hopefully).

There are three things that were/are bad for us though...

1. Robinson's three at the end kind of hurt us. We need to come out early in the 3rd quarter and set the tempo.

2. Payton has three fouls.

3. Kobe has three fouls.

Other than those three elements, the Lakers are playing very well.

I believe so... Also check this out:

Kobe with 18, Shaq with 22 at half.

That's 40 points between them at halftime. :man4:

You guys... Kobe Bryant is really utilizing the bank shot very efficiently. I like this new aspect of his game...

Update: Kobe just picked up his 4th... He'll be done for the rest of this quarter most likely.
