This will be a very easy game for us. Our guys got plenty of rest against the Knicks and we play a very thin Bulls at home. If any of our 4 HOF's play at least decent, then we will win this game. I'll just post the matchups and let yall see why this will be so easy for us.
Payton/Hinrich & Pippen-
Another easy matchup for Payton. He has to love playing against these young rookie point guards. He is going to get Hinrich very tired very early on, but Hinrich will have to play alot since he is the only pg they have right now, so they will have to play Pippen some at the point. Payton can take advantage of these matchups and end up with a solid night. Hinrich will make the typical rookie mistakes, and get some turnovers (he averages 4 turnovers a game, 2nd in the league in to's) that rookies tend to ge due to inexperience, his D is no where near good enough to prevent Payton from doing what he wants to do. Payton should be able to shut down any offense Hinrich might have, and will force him to make turnovers, and get some easy steals.
Hinrich won't be able to play 48 minues...especially against Payton, so they will have to bring in Pip at the point. Pippen will be able to slow down Payton some, because of his good defense, and his height advantage might cause some problems for Gary at first. When Payton gets used to going against Pip, he should have no problem containing him; because his knee is bothering him and will slow him down, and he is no where near the scorer he once was. Pippen won't be able to play solid D on Gary for long, because his knee will start giving him problems, and Payton will be able to start blowing by him. So look for Payton to have a very good night against the Bulls.
It will be alot easier for Kobe to stop him than it was for him to stop Houston. Kobe can focus more on offense if he wants, since he won't have to spend a good bit of his energy on defense. Gill is decent, but he is nothing for the Lakers to be concerned about, since he can't drop points on us, like we had to be worry about with Houston. And since Gill is 35, he won't be able to stop Kobe from scoring on him and driving by him on his way to the basket. Look for Kobe to have a decent night and continue to go to the line.
George will be going against their biggest scoring threat. So George will have to play some good defense, and contain Rose. I don't think George will have a great night on offense, but hopefully he can step up on D, to help us get another blowout.
Mashall has been playing decently this year, Malone should be able to stop him from scoring though. Malone had a good game against the Knicks, and they have better defensive players than the Bulls, so expect him to have an easier time, and be able to get another easy double-double, as long as he continues to look to shoot.
As long as Shaq stay away from Curry and his family before the game, then we will be fine. I remember hearing Shaq say he wasn't going to go easy on him this time, so let's hope he stays true to his word. Shaq can dominate him and whoever else they want to throw at him. He can be ready to show Curry what it's really like to go against the Big Fella.
Take a look at all the injuries that are plaguing the Bulls:
Chandler-he is day to day, but is not expected to play against us, and will see a specialist in LA
Crawford-is doubtful for the game Friday night, he hasn't even been practicing, so playing seems very unlikely
R. Mason-on the IL due to a groin injury
Jay Williams-we all know he won't be able to play till next season
Blount-is playing with a sprained ankle
Fizer-was just activated from the IR
Pippen-has been playing on a sore knee
E. Robinson-has a fractured thumb, but is expected to play with the injury
