Lakers Lose Shaq, Beat Bulls
A strained right calf muscle cut short Shaquille O'Neal's night, but the Lakers on Friday rode 28 points from Kobe Bryant and Karl Malone's yeoman 14-point, 18-rebound effort to a 101-94 victory over the Bulls at STAPLES Center. Los Angeles, the first Western Conference team to reach 10 wins this season, continues its five-game homestand Sunday night vs. Memphis.

Expect the Bulls to be pumped up and play some ball... Untill the 3rd quarter they will hang, but we will take a demanding lead and hold it through untill the end. Like I've said ALL SEASON, the Lakers will not be defeated on their home court...

hey guys ....flashback...

remember when Eddy Curry posturized Shaq for like a man's worth of points and Shaq had a huge off night, 3-11 shooting? Afterwards Shaq blamed it upon meeting Eddy Curry's momma and said that he didn't want to treat her son so mean and harsh. Hope this doesn't happen again, but with our HOFs, should be easy to win...

Side note: The Bulls are deep in all areas from PG to Center...Jay Williams is out, Crawford is banged up, so Payton vs. Hinrich should be an easy duel...but expect a down-and-dirty game...

At home it's a blowout, on the road it would be iffy.

Since we're at home it should be hesy. Not easy, but not hard.

I think we just have more energy at home. We're more excited to play, or focused, or something...

Like I said above, I don't think we'll get beat at HOME the entire season.

The entire season you don't think we will get beat on our home floor? That is stretching it a little bid. And close game we could slip up at home.

It would be so awesome if the Lakers didn't lose a game at home. Oh man that would be rediculous. Anyways the bulls should be no match, but I hope the Lake Show doesn't come out underestimating. There veterans, and know not to do that.

10-3 For Sure!
Kobe Bryant is better then Michael Jordan.

This will be a very easy game for us. Our guys got plenty of rest against the Knicks and we play a very thin Bulls at home. If any of our 4 HOF's play at least decent, then we will win this game. I'll just post the matchups and let yall see why this will be so easy for us.

Player Matchups:
Payton/Hinrich & Pippen- Another easy matchup for Payton. He has to love playing against these young rookie point guards. He is going to get Hinrich very tired very early on, but Hinrich will have to play alot since he is the only pg they have right now, so they will have to play Pippen some at the point. Payton can take advantage of these matchups and end up with a solid night. Hinrich will make the typical rookie mistakes, and get some turnovers (he averages 4 turnovers a game, 2nd in the league in to's) that rookies tend to ge due to inexperience, his D is no where near good enough to prevent Payton from doing what he wants to do. Payton should be able to shut down any offense Hinrich might have, and will force him to make turnovers, and get some easy steals.

Hinrich won't be able to play 48 minues...especially against Payton, so they will have to bring in Pip at the point. Pippen will be able to slow down Payton some, because of his good defense, and his height advantage might cause some problems for Gary at first. When Payton gets used to going against Pip, he should have no problem containing him; because his knee is bothering him and will slow him down, and he is no where near the scorer he once was. Pippen won't be able to play solid D on Gary for long, because his knee will start giving him problems, and Payton will be able to start blowing by him. So look for Payton to have a very good night against the Bulls.

Kobe/Gill- It will be alot easier for Kobe to stop him than it was for him to stop Houston. Kobe can focus more on offense if he wants, since he won't have to spend a good bit of his energy on defense. Gill is decent, but he is nothing for the Lakers to be concerned about, since he can't drop points on us, like we had to be worry about with Houston. And since Gill is 35, he won't be able to stop Kobe from scoring on him and driving by him on his way to the basket. Look for Kobe to have a decent night and continue to go to the line.

George/Rose- George will be going against their biggest scoring threat. So George will have to play some good defense, and contain Rose. I don't think George will have a great night on offense, but hopefully he can step up on D, to help us get another blowout.

Malone/Marshall- Mashall has been playing decently this year, Malone should be able to stop him from scoring though. Malone had a good game against the Knicks, and they have better defensive players than the Bulls, so expect him to have an easier time, and be able to get another easy double-double, as long as he continues to look to shoot.

Shaq/Curry- As long as Shaq stay away from Curry and his family before the game, then we will be fine. I remember hearing Shaq say he wasn't going to go easy on him this time, so let's hope he stays true to his word. Shaq can dominate him and whoever else they want to throw at him. He can be ready to show Curry what it's really like to go against the Big Fella.

Take a look at all the injuries that are plaguing the Bulls:
Chandler-he is day to day, but is not expected to play against us, and will see a specialist in LA
Crawford-is doubtful for the game Friday night, he hasn't even been practicing, so playing seems very unlikely
    R. Mason-on the IL due to a groin injury
Jay Williams-we all know he won't be able to play till next season
Blount-is playing with a sprained ankle
Fizer-was just activated from the IR
Pippen-has been playing on a sore knee
    E. Robinson-has a fractured thumb, but is expected to play with the injury

Lets hope we can carry-over the good free throw shooting from wednesday night. Shaq should be shooting a ton, probably Karl too. It would also be nice to have no more than 10 turnovers. If we can do these things it should definitely be a 20-30 point win.

jsm, if Pippen's in the ball game, Phil will definitely put Kobe on him. KB never fails to shut down Scottie.

I'm just glad it's not a tape delayed game since they're playing at home. GP and D-fish will break out of their shooting slumps. GP had only 11pts in 29 mins for the last game I think. Push the ball, GP! I hope Shaq doesnt take it easy on that Bulls player like last time. Sentiments doesnt belong on the court. Malone needs to get another double double in pts and rebounds. Let's leave the defensive intensity switch "ON" for the rest of the season and the playoffs. :whipit:
