Lakers Detour in New Orleans
Los Angeles trailed by 17 entering the fourth quarter and couldn't handle the Hornets in a 114-95 loss Friday. Shaquille O'Neal dropped in 21 points and Devean George added 16. The Lakers continue a four-game road trip Monday in Memphis at 5 p.m.

Hopefully fatique won't factor in with this team. It most likly will though, look for the original - "Slow it down, run your offense" type of play. I doubt they will enforce as much fast breaking tonight. Besides this is a real good ball club up in N.O., this game is going to be ugly.

We all know that it is very dificult to play second of back to backs. Especialy when your phisicly and emotionaly drained from playing 2 OT. Now I know many of you think this tiredness will show late in the game but that is compleatly uncorect. It only showes early in the game. And once you get your self wormed up, it doesent show any more. So most teams will lose that 1 st quater big and lose its initiative there.


So my prediction is that if we end this 1 st quater tied or better, we will likely win the game. ( I guess you wont heard that from my colegues on American TV ). So, knowing this ( if I do, he should know this as well ) Phil neads to take as many time outs in the 1 st quater as he posebaly can. Dont let the Hornets get away with it in the 1 st, and let our guys get wormed up and start our run in the 2 nd quater.

GP is gonna run the court, and forget the triangle He likes runnin the ball, and Kobe can keep up. But we're not known as a runnin team, and especially the long game we had last night will effect our Lakers. Hopefully that pride and energy we had to win last night will effect us with that same determination to win. It's gonna be a low scorin game... 96-79 Lakers

After the double overtime the lakers are probably worn down. We get to see how kobe knee's really feels by how he moves tonight. I'm looking for a close game but a lakers win if they can slow baron davis and if shaq can be dominant in the paint.

Agree'd. We might even have to come back from a deficit late in the 4th. The difference is, when it's clutch time, other teams will sometimes struggle while the Lakers can keep their cool and overcome the adversity. We will take control of the game in the last 5 minutes for the win.

Like Dragan said, experience will lead us to the victory.

The scores won't be that high. I am predicting a 88-84 Lakers win.

And I hate to tell it to you but our guys aren't going to do that well, we played last night, remember. Everyone on our team will be tired, and Kobe's going to be sore and won't get no 40+ points. Shaq, Payton, and Malone's stats are a little exaggerated too. Shaq and Malone won't get that many rebounds again. And Shaq won't score that much, he just came off a big scoring night last night. And none of them have played that long of a game in quite a while, so look for this to be a big night for the bench.

well k malone im predicting will have a good game after yesterday. gp will be saved and fish will be used more. dev should be very fresh as well. i think shaq will have a bad game, but not kobe. kobe's heart is unmeasurebale. we need help from russel as well. gp will be used in good time and will be effective toward the end. kobe is kobe. dev is fresh and should have a good game. k malone should step up. i think shaq is too tired.

Tonight's matchups

Payton & Fisher/Davis-Hopefully Payton has enough in the tank to prevent Davis from lighting us up. I think Payton will be able to slow him down a bit, but Davis will get 20 something points (probably 26-28). Payton will face his second challenge tonight, first Marbury and now Davs, both of them are scoring pg's, so expect to see the same type of performance form Payton that we saw against Marbury. And Fisher will have to step in up tonight, and play good D when Payton goes to the bench, if he doesn't then Davis is going to have a lot more than 2o something.

Kobe/Wesley-I don't see Wesley having a big game against Kobe. He may end up with 15 or so points. Kobe's a good 5 inches taller than him, and should be able to contend most of his shots. And I don't think Wesley will be able to prevent Kobe from scoring, especially in the 4th quarter.

George/Lynch-this should be an easy defensive matchup for George. I don't think he has to worry about Lynch having a breakout game or anything. George will be able to reach double figures fairly easily against Lynch. Look for Lynch to get around 8 points....that's what he's been averaging.

Malone/Brown-This will give us a chance to see what we got and we might have ended up with go against each other, I think it will really make us glad we got Malone. I think Malone will out play and out hustle Brown tonight. Don't look for Brown's play to be anything special, he's going against the Mailman...tired or not Malone shall prevail

Shaq/Magloire-Magloire won't be able to stop Shaq, unless he starts fouling him, but then he'll be fouled out early. Shaq is too big for Magloire to handle. Look for Shaq to get position early and be able to back down with ease. Also I think they'll put Traylor against Shaq some, just because he's the biggest body they have...but being only 6-8...Shaq will be able to shoot over him.

I don't care how many points they score I just want to win. Undefeated 82-0 baby. Anyways, does anyone know where I can find a home Laker jersey that I can make custom or that has payton on it online??

WTF is the point of showing the game with a 1 hour delay. They are gonna show the Hornets game and Grizzlies game at 6:00, when they are both actually gonna be played at 5:00.

Ya, it will be. When the Bucks game was on tape delay, 570 had the 1 hour delay too

I guess I just have to avoid looking at the internet or ESPN for the next couple of hours so that I will not prematurely get the score of the game.

OH MY GOD SHAQFAN YOU MUST HAVE A SERIOUS MATH PROBLEM...thats 131 points added up altogether by those 6 guys...and you say the Lakers only score 96 points? DUYUDE.....you're 35 points off the mark...and you think Wesley is gonna be the leading scorer...Bryant will easily tackle his game down...BARON DAVIS is the guy to fret about...that guy scored 37 points in his last game...and all these steals and three pointers...a true leader while my underrated man Mashburn is gone. Speaking of Mashburn...wait till he comes back. Also look out for Stevie Smith, that guy scored 17 points off the bench for Hornets after signing with them, and 'cause the Lakers stink at defending threes, he may have a night. Jamaal Magloire, George Lynch and David WEsley should have their off nights, if this was reality and conception was based on analysis. Darrell Armstrong is a bit streaky but no doub the will have an impact on both ends of the court.

On a side note...I expect Phil to be resting his starters and let his other guys get most of the time...they need some rest, man, Karl Malone is not Seymour Benzer, working till you're a gazillion years old or something, and GP is pretty tired too. Kobe may get the most minutes and Shaq may get some too, since we lack centers. Ho Grant won't play much, but look for Luke Walton, Bryon Russell, Derek Fisher and Kareem Rush to get some more PT. The bench hardly played last night, minus fish, and they have no excuse to let down on us and lose this game. New Orleans is 4-1, excellent mark, but they're east side and we have a great opportunity. With Zen help nad expert assistant coaches to guide us we can easily stick this game in full throttle--but expect some runs from the ever-clever New ORLeans HORNETS.

Lakers are gonna lack offfensive punch because I expect their famed guys to tire out and prepare for mid-season....just give this game to New Orleans, we're 6-1, but we may win, WHO knows...FabFour's reverse psychology...these are just my predictions though...
