This would be a huge win because it will help the confidence going into the playoffs. I think Kobe scores more this game.
For what it's worth, the Lakers also clinched the Pacific Division, an achievement Bryant dismissed by saying "We don't hang divisions." No, only the big NBA championship banners are considered wall-worthy for the Lakers.

I sort of hope Nash will sit. I'm just afraid that by him coming back it will throw off any and all the rythmn we have established. Maybe? Maybe Not, but I'm a little nervous.

i'm with you, but he's gotta come back sooner or later. preferably sooner so we can iron out any wrinkles heading into playoffs. this is all assuming that he's completely recovered.

^^ the only reason I'm hesitatant about Nash's return is his D. After the horrible first quarter in Sacramento, we've played 7 quarters of really solid D (for our squad at least). I don't think he'll be of sync offensively, he's an amazing player on that sense, he can easily adjust, and quickly. It's his D that worries me, particularly if not fully healthy. Blake isn't a defensive stopper by any stretch, but Nash can make him look like one.
Still, we can't have Kobe playing 47 minutes a game, and I don't want to see Duhon or Morris in this high stakes game, so we do need him back.

Barring a miracle, Conley is going for 30.

Mike Conley has been big in the last 10 for MEM: 20 ppg, 6 apg, 2 spg on 48.3% FG's; had the game winning layup vs. SAS on 4/1.

I think we win, but it's going to be a close one.

I'm more worried about the Grizz ... one of the few NBA teams which can play lockdown D ... I'm afraid we're going to turn the ball over like crazy ... it won't be easy for Kobe against Allen and Prince ...

To not turn the ball over and limit their offensive rebounds are the two keys of this game ...

We better be ready for Memphis physical D

Must play flawless ball tonight or it won't come out good. At least make fewer errors than Grizz. That includes shot selection, rebounding and all around judgement like more passing less dribbling not just turn overs. Let's see if they bring it.

Another reason why it may be good that Nash is sitting because Blake is by far the better defender.

QUICK PREVIEW
Lakers (39-36) vs. Grizzlies (36-37)
10:30 PM EST

LAKERS
Won last 2
24-12 at home
22-23 vs. West

PROBABLE STARTERS
Steve Nash 12.7 points, 6.7 assists, 2.8 rebounds
Jodie Meeks 8.1 points, 0.8 assists, 2.1 rebounds
Kobe Bryant 27.0 points, 6.0 assists, 5.5 rebounds
Pau Gasol 13.0 points, 3.6 assists, 8.0 rebounds
Dwight Howard 16.7 points, 1.4 assists, 12.7 rebounds

GRIZZLIES
Won last 4
21-16 on the road
30-16 vs. West

PROBABLE STARTERS
Mike Conley 14.5 points, 6.2 assists, 2.7 rebounds
Tony Allen 9.0 points, 1.2 assists, 4.6 rebounds
Tayshaun Prince 9.1 points, 2.6 assists, 4.5 rebounds
Zach Randolph 15.5 points, 1.5 assists, 11.3 rebounds
Marc Gasol 14.4 points, 3.9 assists, 7.6 rebounds

PREDICTION
The Grizzlies have beaten the Lakers in their two meetings this season, and they've done it by scoring a bunch of points in the first half of games. The Lakers other than Kobe Bryant haven't done a good deal in these games (Bryant has averaged 29.5 points, 3.5 assists, and 3.0 rebounds; Metta World Peace, who won't play, is the only other Laker averaging double figures).

Memphis has had a very balanced attack, with eight Grizzlies averaging at least 9 points per game in the series. The Lakers are going to have to hold Memphis below 47% shooting if they're going to win, but it seems something they might be up to.

Cracking 100 will be difficult against these guys if they play the defense their capable of.

If we hit our 3's we will win IMO..... That seems to be what we've become unfortunately....
