We get the W, 103-95... Not purty, but it's a road win.. Let's hope Kobe's ankle doesn't linger too much on the rest of this trip..

Phil seems to be very happy with Pau's performance. You don't see him smiling like that often. Gives Gasol a little pat/bump.

I'm going to create a new stat that shows why Gasol is the BEST to ever play the game and why he should be MVP and the GOAT!

Yes, but man... if he played harder on D, he'd be the GOAT PF, we'd basically be asking him to outperform prime Duncan.

He really is. The way Kobe's been playing this year, if we were to make to the Finals and win, I see Pau getting Finals MVP. Just to shaft Kobe.

And if Lebron had put up that stat line, ESPN would be cracked out with highlights, new stats, and articles reigning him the next coming of God.

There is no possible context for calling a second best and most consistent player on the Lakers - soft. There is no possible justification for that, no matter how you put it. He plays an ungodly amount of minutes at a an extremely high level - that alone should dismiss all the talks about softness.

True. Because those are Bron's best numbers. Yet, no one will even mention Gasol. They will say, yeah nice game, see you later. Why is Gasol not marketable? He's more efficient then anyone. Who can get those numbers, while having identical shooting %? No one.

True, I need to stop expecting perfection, Gasol provides more then enough for this team.

yes there is, he is soft on the defensive side. His offensive play does not mean that he is excused from playing defense, no matter how much you want to believe it. The problem is that maybe soft isn't a bad thing because it allows him to provide the offense which is what we need to compete for a championship.

Agreed. In addition, Pau was in foul trouble tonight so I don't think he was aggressive on D.

He is not Bynum - never was - never will be form the defense standpoint. He also gives up a lot of weight ( even to Lopez, I would imagine ). The term soft is thrown around much too often.

You are right, Gasol is not soft and the term is thrown around too much. I will instead focus my energy on hoping that Bynum comes back.

Gasol had 11 rebounds with 3 offensive boards
Odom had 11 rebounds with 4 offensive boards

Lopez had 10 rebounds with 3 offensive boards
Anderson had 9 rebounds with 5 offensive boards

Simmons had 2 offensive rebounds and hes a guard. Lets blame some of that on kobe/Ariza. Boone had 4 offensive boards. That can be blamed on both Gasol and Lamar.

My point is that everybody needs to quit blaming pau for every offensive rebound that the other team gets

For the record to the above Pau Gasol argument

Pau had 2 blocks tonight and is average 1 a game. Pretty good defensive game tonight from him.
