Fri. 4/20 - Lakers @ Spurs - Predictions & Comments

If Mike Brown truly is a defensive coach, I haven't seen any adjustments at all. It's not even just this game, it's the same thing every game with us, same problems, same results.

If he's a defensive guru, shouldn't we see a change? It's like eff it every game we will just outscore them.

This is a bad loss however I'm not that upset by it.... in the playoffs we will be able to game plan for one team at a time... if/when we get back to these guys we will have some work to do but hopefully our coaching staff will have some answers with a scheme.... They don't shoot 60% all the time...

Let's be real here, our defense is complete and utter crap, but whereas San Antonio's defense has become less and less potent over the years they've adjusted by going out and acquiring shooters, and shifting their offense to a more perimeter oriented game. Meanwhile we have crap defense and can't seem to buy a shot at the offensive end. If you can't do both you have to at least be very good at one end of the floor, and at this rate if our offense isn't clicking, we're dead in the water.

Clip of Mike Brown on the sideline - he just looks completely hopeless.

Problems start on the defensive end. But i think it's more an effort thing than a scheme thing.

Mike Brown can't make adjustments ... but to be fair I'm not blaming him right now ... this team just doesn't want to bring the effort needed on D

honestly i dont buy into the whole "turn the defense back on in the playoffs" if they can play defense against sub par teams and against good teams, why would they magically be able to in the playoffs?

sesh first assist wow

I don't know.... to me it's part scheme and part execution.... you can try as hard as you want but if 3 Lakers are guarding Parker and no one is on Manu it does't seem to have much to do with effort......

Brown giving up with 7 mins left
I should get an assist for that. It's an intentional pass to oneself, so it's an assist. That way people can't say all I do is shoot.

if sesh is hurt and playing like crap, why doesnt he rest and get healthy for the playoffs vs throwing his body around on the court and taking hits? not like hes contributing that much now anyways vs when he was healthy and owning

Jordan Hill and Mcbobs are the only two bigs that can play pick and roll defense. Problem is well....they aren't exactly going to light it up on offense.

Now DeJuan Blair is in, please put Bynum back so he could get 30 rebounds again :man9:

We can't beat them in the playoffs, but I'm hoping we at least make an entertaining series out of it.

To be fair..... Parker isn't running the Pick and Roll either...

What I was trying to say was..... that they are the only bigs athletic enough to play Pick and Roll defense the way it is supposed to be played. Parker would still pick it apart, but those two would be in better position to show high and recover faster then Pau/Bynum would.
