I could care less about our offense, although when it falters, our transition D falls apart mainly because our bigs stop running.. We NEED Drew to get up for this game and not let inconsistent touches, questionable play by teammates or bricks get to him. More often than not, when he doesn't get a touch early in the set, we end up jacking up a bad shot, and whether warranted or not, Drew wears his frustration on his sleeve... and feet. He occasionally pauses in disgust for a split-second, and instead of hussling back, is now behind the play just enough for his man to leak out. He's gotten better since Kobe went out, obviously, but still has lapses.
This needs to end ASAP. I love him and have been a huge advocate of his, asking fans for patience with the injuries, but he needs to get over this latest challenge - a little bit of humility. He's working on it, but we need it all the time. We get that, and we get the BEST center in the league... one who can get back on the break all the time just because he's thinking ahead a bit.
The good news -- he's got a shot to make up for the last display of transition and perimeter D against TD and the Spurs. He'll get up for this one.
Now we just need Sessions going OVER the pick instead of giving Tony open 15-footers
Go Lakers
