LOL @ everyone saying "good win" after almost blowing a 15 point lead. Denial is not a river in Egypt. Alvin Gentry losing his cool and costing his team two points did a lot as far as shifting the momentum back in favor of the Lakers, not to mention the two points. Keep in mind that Phoenix closed it to within four towards the end.
I will say that there was a lot more toughness and the Lakers played more physical than usual, but talk about some dumb fundamental mistakes, ESPECIALLY on fast breaks where they elected to kick the ball out and jack up a reckless three rather than attack the rim. That, the missed free throws and FFS will someone inform the team that zone defense has been legal in the NBA since 2002. I love the toughness (a hard foul by Pau is a rare sighting and in Gentry's defense, it should have been a Flagrant but the refs went with Gasol's reputation), the physical play, making adjustments on D when it was necessary but when you have a lead as big as the Lakers did, you've got to capitalize. The tone here would have been verrrrry different had Phoenix made one or two more of their misses late in the 4th.
