From TNT (regarding the Kobe Bryant situation):

Best Case Scenario: Kobe Bryant misses none of the game.

Worse Case Scenario: Kobe Bryant misses the first quarter.

It sounds good. Hopefully he will be mentally prepared for the game (which from the days he played games on court appearance dates, he excelled in each one).

i feel so unconfident(is that a word) that the lakers will fail to win game 5, but i think they'll win the series, and i think lakers are gonna struggle greatly with spurs....ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh GO LAKERS! :jam2:

I have no doubt he will be. What happens at the start will be the key. If Kobe's not there the other Lakers will have to step up. Shaq must dominate and GP and the rest must get into it as well (I'm not worried about Karl). They'd better not let the Rockets take an early lead, but then again Kobe might save the team again :man1:

but it'd be better if the Lakers come out strong so #8 won't have to rescue them at the end of the game. :jam2:

Shaq NEEDS to have a huge game, because so far he hasn't looked like himself out there. We can't beat San Antonio without Shaq at the top of his game. Also, the Laker defense needs to pick it up all game long. On top of all of that, the bench needs to be productive. It's a tall order, but the Lakers gotta do it if they want the title.

Sportscenter was a little more positive. They said it would probably run until 6 PM local time, so he would miss some of the first quarter, maybe all of the first quarter. They didn't say he would miss the game though, like ESPN News.

They said he will have no escort when he arrives in LA, so getting from the LAX terminal to Staples is up to Kobe. He won't be getting any help on this one.
