Shaq had a bad game, but he continued to prove that he is better than Yao. Here is the head to had stats:

Shaq-20 points, 17 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 blocks, 8-17 from the field, 4-14 from the line, in 45 minutes

Yao-10 points, 11 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 blocks, 4-11 from the field, 2-2 from the line, in 38 minutes, fouled out

Somebody let me know whether Yao's block against Shaq was goaltending or not. The ball seemed to be completely over the cylinder and on it's way down when Yao swatted it away. There were also alot of terrible offensive foul calls against the Lakers where the Rockets defender was in the restricted zone.

Ugly game, but bottom line, the Lakers got a W, they just need to adjust to the Rocket's defense and execute better on offense, the D was great though. And Yao got schooled by Shaq and fouled out.

Lots of bad calls by the refs (not surprising since Javie was there) and yes, that was a goaltend by Yao that wasn't called.

Gotta admit, the Lakers need to get their offense rolling next game...they really needed to set the tone for the playoffs tonight, not barely hang on to beat the seventh seeded team.

BTW, how big of an idiot is Bill Lambier? His Laker-hating is completely uncalled for, and there is no way someone as biased as him should be on ESPN.

Just one of the reasons I watch FSN. I feel sorry for all of you who don't get Fox Sports and have to watch ESPN.

i like it that we are playing the rockets instead of teams like the mavs or queens. the grind it out style will prepare us better for a possible 2nd round battle with the spurs. we just got to improve our ball movement even more next game.

No loss is a pretty loss, at least to me. Quite an ugly game tonight, but it is ok, WIN! That is a nice stat about Phil being 36-0 when his team wins Game 1, but I wouldn't let that stat fool ya, so what? Tommorow they have to get their offense in a rhythm and really knock 'em cold. I believe they will, and really, Houston isn't that damn good! Come on, Lakers really gotta step it up, and I believe they will.
