So you hit the nail on the head with the analysis but completely miss who's BBIQ was lapsing......

Go sit down and rest then. Shooting 2/14 or whatever and standing there with the ball waiting for a double team burning the clock to 7-8 second then launching a pass to a defended player isn't good basketball.

You are forgetting the fact that he was doubled through-out the 1st half as well. So that excuse goes out the window. Drew was beasting all game, if he was that tired, throw the ball inside.

Coincidence the members that won't allow Kobe to be criticized always have a Kobe reference in their username?

Kobe tried hard and it's not ultimately his fault. He's trying to hard. He needs to play off the ball and get some passes slash/cutting roll baseline..

Barnes and Artest have to go. Those guys are just complete trash. It's literally like starting a game with 3 players on the floor with a Fish/barnes or Fish/Artest combo.

Called it in the 2nd quarter. Just way too predictable.

They have Kobe walking a fine line. Either he overly asserts himself or is overly passive for long spurts. It has been said by Ireland that the staff asks him to do that during games and halves, but it goes against Kobe and ultimately the team.

Phil Jackson once said that no matter how much he may have been frustrated by Kobe or how much or little he shot, he would never purposely try to get him to curtail his agressiveness into facilitating or scoring primarily at one time because you take away what makes Kobe, Kobe, his fire.

These past couple of games, we have seen the team make Kobe the priamry ball handler again. In turn, he spent a whole first quarter in Denver not shooting. He spent the third in Utah not shooting. He spent the third tonight not shooting at all after being so hot. The thing is, John Ireland has noted that and said Mike Brown and the staff has asked him to play that way. To spend a prolonged period of the game force feeding everyone make or miss and try to get them involved. In theory getting guys involved sounds good, but the question becomes, how do you expect Kobe to stay in rhythm like a robot when he goes 12 mintues of game time or over half a hour of real time without shooting the ball?

It is just like when Brown admittedly said he went to Kobe and asked for the 40 point streak so the team's offense could lean on him. Then that begged the question, how do you get the other players and bigs to stay involved?

Like it or not, a lot of our wounds and problems come from the fact Brown doesn't know how to get the most from Kobe and the bigs and form an offense where eveeryone stays in rhythm together and are involved without freezing out Kobe or the bigs for a prolonged time period to benefit the others, at the cost of one of our top weapons. We need our coach to figure it out, shortened season or not, like we need a starting PG, starting SF, and bench scoring.

^^ Agreed.

I think the coaching staff is to blame for today's loss. I know Mike Brown was suspended but it is still his coaching staff. There is absolutely no excuse for putting in Fisher and MWP late in the 4th to try and win the game. Fisher got BURNED my Williams, and MWP is utterly and completely worthless.

In the last seconds of the game, the lakers needed a 3, what was the lineup? Fisher, Kobe, MWP, Gasol, Bynum. IS THAT SOME SORT OF JOKE? WTF is that? There has to be shooters on the floor in a possession like that! Put Goudelock in, put Kapono in, put Murphy in, heck, put Barnes in! MWP can't shoot. The bigs can't shoot. Kobe is obviously gonna get doubled because they expect him to shoot. Fisher isn't very reliable.

That is just an example of the coaching staff's poor decisions today. If you have a guy that is demanding double and even triple teams ALL THE TIME, how can you not capitalize out of it? How bad do you have to be not to be able to come up with some sort of plan that gets open looks for guys that can make them? Ridiculous. Completely pathetic and ridiculous.

I don't think you can blame Kobe. If it wasn't for him, the team would've been down by 10+ in the fist half.
In the second half he got absolutely no rest; was constantly doubled and he did give the ball up every time, with some good and some bad results. Eventually the coaching staff and the players will rely on Kobe to step up and shoot the ball, even if he has to force his way out of the double team, which he tried to do. His shot wasn't falling, but can you blame him? Iguodala is a great defender, and was being allowed to be very physical with him (while the refs called several bogus calls on kobe; very inconsistent officiating indeed). He shot only 1 time in the 3rd and couldn't sustain his rythm. And it's not like he missed open shots; the best shots he had were fadeaways over Iguodala's outstreched arms..

I hope the coaching staff finds a way to establish the new offense quickly and effectively, or I'm afraid we'll have to suffer to see if we make it to the playoffs.
"The first time I ever saw my uniform hanging in the locker I put it on right away, and it just felt like I was putting on golden armour. From that day forward, I just called it 'the golden armour', it just felt like there was something mystical and magical about it" - Kobe Bryant.
