And I completely don't understand how betting AGAINST your own team, who you are supposed to root for, is considered being a "better fan". And he didn't just bet 5 dollars or 10 dollars, he bet 100 dollars. He even admitted to it being a drunk decision, and people still agree with him. Just because a guy has a few more digits under his name on an internet message board doesn't make him a better fan, nor does it make his logic make more sense.

No... I write things that usually create controversy...
One of my closest friends called me the "stan van gundy of laker fans"... which I thought was funny...
but I was like this in 2002 against the kings also.
I just think in ball its about domination. Size wins, talent wins. LA has both, so when I see them play series closer than they should, struggle to beat teams clearly inferior, I get upset.
as a side note: If you ask most doctors what they think of pathologists.... they'd say "smart" also...but I don't necessarily buy that.
Some things that prove your one of the biggest Lakers fans on the fourm:
1. Early Register Date
2. Getting pissed after a lose
3. Betting against you team so you will be happy win or lose
4. Actually paying $100 for a simple fourm bet.
The List goes on and on! Your really a great roll model![]()

He never used the word "better"...
But too many fans throw around the "fanship" police and decide who is and isn't a fan. So its probably more a statement to those who claim I'm NOT or anyone for that matter on the board ISN'T a fan.
In that case, the number DOES contribute. If I didn't care, I wouldn't be here...
Fanship police really needs to be stopped. Everyone on this board sans the trolls are lakers fans. Most of, if not all of my friends who are also laker fans NEVER post on a single message board, they don't listen to the interviews, don't read the articles, don't watch the post game shows...but they are still fans.

He used the phrase "true fan" or "real fan", which is basically the same. Also, I don't understand how you are arguing about ridding the forum of fanship police, then writng how the number shows how much you care. There are a million reasons why one wouldn't have as large a post count as others. Maybe watching the game somewhere else, not having computer nearby, etc. It's an internet forum, it doesn't rate passion for the lakers.
You also have to understand, I listen to the interviews, read articles, etc., but I don't think that makes me a "true fan", that's just what I'm interested in, and that's what you are interested in as well. As long as you cheer on the lakers and watch their games with passion, that makes you a fan. So I do have to agree that the "fanship police" should be stopped as well.
