I hate to admit I thought we were gonna lose (not from the start tho) but as soon as Fish came back in late in the 4th I thought we would probably lose the game. It's just a trend that cannot be overlooked.

Kobe should've taken the shot. He's a MUCH BETTER game closer than artest, not that I blame Artest for missing the shot.

Kobe was triple teamed....he made the right play, getting it to a wide open Ron. Ron's shot looked good too....

Phil should have called a timeout and taken the time to set something up for Kobe instead forcing the Lakers to a run a fire drill like that. Phil's second mistake....putting Fish back in the game late.

Still on the second night of a back to back where our bigs didn't show up at all....I thought they played hard.

If Kobe makes it, it's a miracle shot under duress and double/triple coverage. More than likely, it's a miss and a loss. Instead he got it to a guy who was wide open and shooting well for the night. Percentage wise, Kobe made a great play.

One of those "we just want to get this road trip over with" games. No heart from Bynum, more recent inconsistent play from Gasol and a quiet night for Odom. Yah Artest missed the game winner but I'm glad to see that he's getting back to his usual self. He had himself a hell of a game as a whole and IMO you can't blame him alone, you have to blame the rest of the team for not showing up. Kobe did all he could despite his finger. It just seemed like the Boston game took everything out of the Lakers as far as energy was concerned and the young up tempo Grizz took advantage of that. Can't win em all. Let it go. Time to get rested, get healthy and get ready for a big one against G. Wallace and Captain Jack.

I thought that shot was goin in by Ron. He had a good look just didnt drain it. Another heartbreaking loss to a mediocre team. The losses to Toronto and Memphis will come back to haunt us when we're fighting for HCA with Cleveland. We still have SO MANY road games left. We seriously need to go on a serious run in March.

It wasn't just that Memphis is on quite the surge right now - it's that Kobe tried to win the game himself. Looking at the box score..

Ron Artest - 6/9 FG -- 2/3 3PT -- 4/5 FT
Pau Gasol - 4/7 FG -- 0/0 3PT -- 2/5 FT
Andrew Bynum - 1/3 FG -- 0/0 3PT -- 3/4 FT
Kobe Bryant - 16/28 FG -- 4/7 3PT -- 8/13 FT
Derek Fisher - 1/6 FG -- 0/4 3PT -- 0/0 FT

That's just the starters .. NO ONE else on that team got more than 10 shots. You can't tell me that with all of the talent on that team.. that there's no other viable option than Kobe.

Don't get me wrong - he kept them in the game .. but if you look at past games .. when everyone else in the game is getting shots rather than Kobe trying to win the game by himself - it usually ends in a win.

Kobe needs to start getting his teammates involved.. or the lakers need to find someone who will. When one person (granted its Kobe Bryant) has more shots than all four of the other starters COMBINED .. you know somethings not right.

Just my two cents. I was at work when the game was on.. I got home and checked the box score first .. didn't bother to watch the game after I saw that.

^ I thought he was taking a few shots that he should've passed up, but like you said, he tried keeping just in the game. No one steped up and was aggressive when he was out, and look what happened. They got their 11 pt lead
