I'm so confused. Was that just a brainfart on Metta's part? That would make the most sense, but the way Barnes was positioned and the fact that Metta was so decisive in that pass leads me to believe that it may have been by design. And if so, Mike Brown should be fired right now...

Hire Fisher as the coach next season. He'd do a better job.

Hopefully, we'll need him bad against San Antonio.
This will end up being a big win for us, 1-1 on the road without Kobe? I'll take it. Try to finish the season on a high note, secure that 3rd seed and get into the playoffs with a little momentum.

That was a Mike Brown gem all the way. Barnes was over in that area the entire time. It wasn't obvious as to where the ball was going.

It's official, Mike Brown is 10000% not capable of being this teams coach. I'd rather go into the playoffs with no coach at all.. this guy sucks.

we wouldn't miss much w/o Brown, O just pass it to bigs or Kobe, on D do nothing like they've been doing

No way, the play should be passing to their half no matter what. 1 sec is not enough to steal and shoot from there or steal and call the to. The only way to lose the game was that pass, a pass behind Lakers basket.

Look at Mike Brown's reaction when Metta did that. Do you seriously think that's what he wanted him to do by his reaction? Seriously??

Artest threw the ball towards our side of the court. IF the Hornets player was paying attention, he easily steals it. There was enough time for him to get up a shot to tie the game.

My guess is that Barnes was supposed to run Jason Smith off of him and get the ball, Which would have been pretty easy for Matt to do but Metta got nervous and just chucked it early. Probably scared of the 5 second call with how the refs were acting and delaying the action.

Either way, worst thing MWP could have done.

In bounds with 1.2 seconds left. MWP doesn't want to inbound. Starts clapping hands at ref. They give him the ball. He bounces it across halfcourt, right to where Hornets can pick it up and hit about an eight foot jumper, but the Hornet player turned a split second too late...so we won miraculously.

1.2 on the clock, all you need to do is receive the ball and get rid of it into the air. It was a good idea since everyone was probably expecting them to throw it into the frontcourt, but if Barnes doesn't have a step on Smith and the angle on the pass you have to look for someone else. It was a good idea but poorly executed as Ron didn't even try to look elsewhere.

Of course that was where the ball was going but Barnes was suppose to come toward the ball and Metta read Barnes the wrong way.

I have never gotten upset over fans not liking MB but to blame that last pass on him is just DUMB!

:man10: I wish I could've seen that. I lost connection to the game right after the Lakers called the time out. I figured there was no way to lose the game at that point, so I didn't bother to try to reconnect to the game.
