I don't think Kobe could play this badly again if he tried.

We said that after the Bucks game. I think it's time to admit that Kobe is not the same Kobe we once knew. But that's okay, we seem to be fine anyway. So long as he shows up in the playoffs we'll be fine.

I don't think father time has given him his seal of approval yet, Kobe can still lead the league in scoring if he wanted to. he's just not the guy to be able to be a facilitator and a high scorer in one game. I'm not bragging on LeBron or Durant and others but they got that down pact, Kobe just isn't the player to learn how to do both yet. But of course he's not the Kobe we once saw in the past.

Not really. Pau had 2 fouls in the 4th guarding Howard.

And that is?

come on dude it's obvious. Kobe hasn't had a stretch like this where every single game is a bad shooting game for a LONG time, actually this might be the worst ever. Whether it's age, injuries, or a combination of both it's obvious that he can't go all out like he used to.

Good news is Kobe usually comes back from bad games like this with a monster one. No better time than against the Cavs

^ No, if it's not a permanent thing, there's every reason to believe he can continue to go all out like he used to.

Yep, guy has a broken finger on his shooting hand but still can manage to put up 42 points. He's not the same because he's coming off of back spasms (you try playing back to back games with freakin' back spasms!!), strained elbow, broken finger . . . come on now. I've never seen anyone gut it out like Kobe. But there will be nights like tonight where he's going to show the wear and tear. Bless him for strapping on those shoes and going out there anyway. He's the greatest warrior you'll have the good luck to see every single game.

Well put. It's ridiculous how people criticize this guy when it looks like the guy has a roll of toilet paper on his pointer finger.

7cody wrote:^ Kobe is fine physically. Phil said that he hasn't been practicing lately, once he hits the gym and gets a few practice sessions under his belt then he'll be fine.

Besides, this is nothing new, Kobe does this every year. He has a couple bad stretches where he'll shoot extremely poorly. Usually he starts dominating again come February.

Sure, Kobe's been physically fine for a few weeks now right? :man3:

ORL fan:

All I can say is FU Stan. Once again the game was in range but you Stan let Gasol and Odom double up and kick our [Swearing is not permitted at Clublakers. And thanks for blowing a lead by letting the subs come in, Anderson and Pietrus and let them start heaving 3's when Dwight was open underneath. Thats all I had to watch when I got home, was th eMagic catch up only to lose it to the same goddam issues people keep bring up. Running down court and just heaving a three.

Fire Stan. Trade Jameer.

Besides Kobe and the 20-2 Orlando run, beautiful game overall, especially the bench. Farmar and Shannon were sick/.

Kobe will have to be a little more of a facilitator on this road trip.

It's one thing to be a warrior and play through pain and injuries, its another to play like you are healthy to the detriment of your team.

LA has loads of talent on the inside. Plenty of 20 point scorers...

C'mon Lakeshow. I think they'll go 5-3 on this road trip but would love a 6-2 or 7-1 trip.
Why do we fall? So that we can learn to pick ourselves up.

Karacha: that's hilarious. Jameer had the best +/- on the team.

In other news, Lakers do even their record at 4-4 vs. 50-win trending teams.
