11-0 run for dallas. Can't have that near the end of quarters.

all good. lakers usually slack off when they play good in the first quarter. so let the mavs have that little lead for now.

The Lakers need to grab those rebounds and win the hustle battle :bang:

With Dallas getting all those open looks, Lakers should feel fortunate they're only down 2. Now they need to shore up that D and they'll get the lead back.

I think if we do a better job defending the 3, we should be OK. Aside from their nice long range shooting, Dallas did not impress me. Nothing special. I mean, I haven't seen anything we can't deal with.

We would be down by more if Dallas had made more shots. Our defense is not getting it done.
Thanks for the sig, Jr. Kobe.

Yeah, I get the feeling we can beat the Mavs, but we have to play with more energy.

I'm actually a little encouraged.....we didn't play well on Defense and the offense was essentially Kobe and we are just 2 back.

We have been arriving a quarter late for the last month and I think we will have a good run in the second quarter again...

I'm not worried at all by the result the way this game is played ... with better D and more inside play , we'll be fine

After the first quarter, the Lakers find themselves behind primarily due to:

Kidd being allowed to pass at will (he has 4 assists and 0 turnovers so far)
The Lakers defense is too soft especially on threes (Dallas is shooting 47.8% overall)
The Lakers are taking far too many jumpers (Lakers are shooting only 39.1% overall)

The good news is the Lakers are winning the rebound battle 14-11, so if they just run their offense and tighten down their defense like we know they can do, they should be fine.

Game has been pretty symmetrical so far. Neither team taking control.
