If we played smart with a 16 point lead we wouldn't even be talking about the refs. They had nothing to do with this loss. This is on the guards and Odom for jacking up too many outside shots and not getting back on defense. They all played poor defense on the perimeter as well.

Bynum didn't rebound well and wasn't much of a presence on D either. Pau played pretty well, but he was too passive in the 4th and should have called for the ball instead of just waiting for a tired Kobe to bail us out again.

Our late 4th quarter offense is horrible. Everyone in the league knows what we are going to do. It is working less and less these days. Dallas ran their offense rather than just iso and got Dirk to his spot on 3 consecutive possessions. We got some fade aways and deep 3's....

I clicked on it and waited an eternity, but nothing was happening. I finally broke down and clicked a bunch of times, and this is what happens. I guess that's what I get for making a post in anger.

I must say though, CL must have upgraded their servers because the site is coping with the increased "we just got our a**es handed to us" traffic much better this year.

I think you're right. I knew the site would be busy, so I should have waited. Oh well.
Thanks for the sig, Jr. Kobe.

As far as I'm concerned, we choked big-time. We were up by 16 and lost. We can talk about the refs and all of that, but we shouldn't have been in this position. I just hope this loss doesn't cost us the series.

Same feeling I had after NO stole Game 1 last series, I was like "Bummer, but don't worry, they got this." I have confidence in this team that they won't be beaten in a 7-game series by any team.

Ron Artest gets goat award... 2 pts. 3 rebs... why doesn't everyone show up? Phil has a problem... he needs to exit the NBA with a title or does he care?... It will be painful to see this team crater and dissolve into history...

Can't be a precedence on D if the Mavs are scoring in transition or jumpshots. As far as rebounding goes, he only gave up 1 offensive board to Chandler and we outrebounded Dallas overall so it wasn't as if the rebounds he wasn't getting were going to Dallas. Dallas is a jumpshooting team and the rebounds are going to bounce long.

What Bynum didn't do well was establish himself offensively in the paint with the 2nd unit. He needs to give them a target inside, otherwise they jack up jumpers and the Mavs score in transition.

What I'm hearing is the Lakers are below average shooting from outside and the Mavs saw this was not a good nite so they left everyon alone way outside and they fell for it and shot brick after brick after brick... when the real scoring was inside... This just in... Kobe Bryant 29 shots 0 assists!

I disagree and agree. The offense in the third was bad for sure however our offense down the stretch is so predictable. We run iso for Kobe time and time again when we are in close games. Once he gets the ball everyone stops and watches. Meanwhile Dallas ran their offense and got Dirk the ball in his spot.

It seems that the Triangle is only good enough to get a lead, not preserve one or close out a close game.
