I had OKC in 5.

I thought 6 but I held out hope that we could slow the games enough to take it.....

Will this be the Summer of Kobe? How many more good years does he have? Can they assemble a winning team for one last title run? Not looking good. I think Kobe will retire. No one knows the level of pain he lives with because he'll never tell. This could be the end of an era and long dry spell to come if anyone remembers the '90's...

Kobe still battling, admirably, but OKC is just better than the Lakers.
I wish he had some more help, though.

Yet as I watched him Monday, I could not help think how little it mattered and how right he is. He is not fading into the shadows. He does not know how to go out that way.[.]

THIS PLEASE.
These guys are just undeserving of his effort.

The oldest guy, the guy with the most mileage, the most accomplished, the one that has a TRULY safe place in NBA greatness history, is the guy who plays the hardest, and seems to be the only one that cares.

Bynum may be great statistically, and may have great potential, but he was incredibly dissapointing. His attitude was inexcusable.
Gasol mentally checked out 2 years ago.
Brown is retarded.

Damn, its hard to watch this but i got kind of emotional thinking this is probably the last time we see this current team....it was like passing of the torch moment with Harden Westbrook and Durant going to Kobe and him congratulating all of them.

I had OKC in 5.

OKC is all that, and more. They have:
1. Shooters aplenty
2. Team speed
3. Athleticism
4. No turmoil, especially now with FIsher
5. Perkins is a decent big.

Yes it was. Magic even came back to give the team a lift and ended up attacking a ref in one game I saw. May have been his last...

The turning point was where we got tired again..... I hope ownership sees that and does everything it can to get depth and shooters...... We are good enough.... but not for 4 full quarters against them....

Today seems like Kobe vs the entire OKC team, no one else step up and came to the play, SMH

Thanks CL for a great seson. It's been a pleasure reading all your posts and learning from the resident analysts. It makes watching the games at home a little better. Let's hope we get a chance to jump on the Lakers in the next season threads to come. May all you and your icons thrive over the off season. :jam2:

The mid 70's were pretty bad... even after the Kareem trade..... we weren't great... Gail was the only bright spot before Kareem after the 72 team.... 90's were actually pretty fun for the most part.

I think we can turn it around for one more run..... I hope they try and turn Pau into a dynamic player and some bench help.... and give it one more shot..... if not then blow it up.... and trade Bynum for picks and youth and start over....
