Seriously not that bad of a game....they kept up well. It wasn't even a whipping until the last minute and a half.

I disagree, the team needs continuity and massive changes don't help with that. A couple key pieces, develop what you have and they will be good again.

im surprised they didnt get around 70 pts in the paint from layups/dunks...

im guessing jim jackson and johnson shot lights out from outside the paint...which was what killed us... oh well

Actually in all fairness to Caron, he wasn't guarding Johnson for the most part. Since Q went out, he was guarding Jim Jackson.



But the only negative offensively was his 4 missed layups, and not being able to catch the ball.


The stuff I hate about Caron is what he doesn't do defensively. He doesn't help, he doesn't box out, and he stands 15 feet away from his man!


There were times in the 2nd half, where he just stayed put, and didn't even move, didn't even care where his man was, and didn't help either.

Once he goes to the middle of the key for no reason what soever, finds himself behind another guy so that when his guy gets a wide open 3 (jim jackson) he isn't even close to contesting it, making it seem like he was picked.

It was HORRIBLE...


Butler has to be moved. I can't take his stupidity...he's the anti-horry. Does all the little things to COST you games.

Butler has an excuse for being garbage. I mean he has so much passion. He should use that passion to be the greatest player ever.

Looked like Kobe was lazy at the end. Gave up the open 3 (because Kobe doesn't feel like he needs to guard his own man so damn often), and then gave another 3 (that was missed) and stood there not going after the rebound.

Well, first you have to evaluate the current talent, and realize that the talent on the floor isn't good enough, even with continuity.

Once you realize you have the talent, then you need the continuity. Right now the Lakers boast a backup PG, a 6th man SF, a backup C, and a SF playing PF for their starting lineup. 3/5 of the starting unit wouldn't start for a great many teams in the league!

So that's where the massive changes come from. Then have continuity.

The 96-97 Lakers had Kobe, Shaq, EJ, Elden, Nick, amongst others... they had the talent and just needed the continuity...

It's one thing to ask the Lakers to play better defense. It's another thing to expect Atkins (who can't guard anyone) to stop guys like Nash, Bibby, Parker. Expect Caron to handle Lebron, Melo, Vince, Tmac, Lewis, Manu, etc... Expect Odom to handle Duncan, Webber, Brand, Garnett... Expect Mihm to handle Kaman, Zman, Shaq, Yao...

It's a lack of talent.

no discipline and defense system. The coach is mostly at fault,

True, but there's a reason why prognosticators expected this team to win 42 games at best, or hang around the 6-8 playoff position. It's b/c they looked at the talent and realized they aren't that good!
