Lakers to Hold Ceremony to Honor 1985 NBA Championship Team
The Los Angeles Lakers will hold a special half-time ceremony on Monday, April 11 to honor the 20th anniversary of the 1985 NBA Championship team.
Most, if not all, of the players from the 1985 team are expected to attend including Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Magic Johnson, James Worthy, Jamaal Wilkes, Mitch Kupchak, Kurt Rambis, Michael Cooper and Bob McAdoo, as well as Pat Riley and Jerry West, Head Coach and General Manager of the 1985 team.
The Lakers are also celebrating 20 years of partnership with FSN West, who will televise the half-time ceremony live as part of their coverage of the night’s game vs. the Phoenix Suns. FSN West was originally founded as Prime Ticket Network by Lakers owner Dr. Jerry Buss and Bill Daniels. FSN West will also sponsor a giveaway on Monday of a commemorative t-shirt to all fans in attendance at the game.
