Lakers must elevate their defense. when LA is playin team D nobody in the league is more effective at getting stops, period. For the love of God do what worked against SA and drop the triangle. they've figured it out Phil! Good old fashioned pick and roll, give them a taste of their own medicine. they might play the pick and roll better defensively but they don't have #8 comin off the pick either. Shaq will have to play his heart out. I fully expect to see shaq in Superman mode. Kobe will be agressive and get his team involved. Look for payton to contribute. I know its a crazy concept but while i'm at it might as well hope for the best. MALONE!! passing the ball well KILLS their interior and exterior defense. The piston's defense doesn't rotate fast enough, and with the passing skills of Shaq, malone, kobe, payton, and now Luke; we should eat them up like a hamburger on memorial day!

PS I Won't be satisfied with this season until I hear "We are the champions' blaring through the staples center speakers. 'we are the champions, my friends. AND WE'LL KEEP ON FIGHTING TILL THE END." the end is here and now if you guys don't play like champions :)

PPS: sorry guys! i know i'm gettin annoying but isn't that a perfect song to be dedicated to this season, especially when we see shaq or kobe hoist the trophy high?
I've paid my dues
Time after time
I've done my sentence
But committed no crime
And bad mistakes
I've made a few
I've had my share of sand
Kicked in my face
But I've come through

And we mean to go on and on and on and on

We are the champions - my friends
And we'll keep on fighting
Till the end
We are the champions
We are the champions
No time for losers
'Cause we are the champions of the World

I've taken my bows
And my curtain calls
You brought me fame and fortune
And everything that goes with it
I thank you all
But it's been no bed of roses
No pleasure cruise
I consider it a challenge before
The whole human race
And I ain't gonna lose

And we mean to go on and on and on and on

We are the champions - my friends
And we'll keep on fighting
Till the end
We are the champions
We are the champions
No time for losers
'Cause we are the champions of the World

We are the champions - my friends
And we'll keep on fighting
Till the end
We are the champions
We are the champions
No time for losers
'Cause we are the champions

Seems like the Lakers are getting pushed around by that rough Detroit defense. Yet it's the Lakers always in foul trouble. Detroit definitely has been the aggressors. Even Elden Cambell looks good out there.
Lots of times a team gets blown out and they come back to win the following game. Malone's injury really hurts. I think Slava needs to step up. Payton needs to show up. Shaq and Kobe have to play better. :man7:

For all the people hoping the Lakers use the pick and roll, all I have to say is try it. Pistons have defended that play like no other this year and it turns into a fast break or a blocked shot. Pistons are just too quick to use the p&r against them.

They might not. If it's true the lineup of Shaq, Kobe, Fox, George, and Fisher is going to be used, then the triangle will be the offense because they know how to run it. Shaq will be the focus again, and you know your Pistons can't stop him, and he'll get open shots to the others.

Our dynasty depends on this game. Lakers, do something about. Knock these girls down, play dirty, play physical, give the ball to Shaq every possession.

Damn, this feels like San Antonio series part 2. The only difference is we have a win. Still, this is the same type of scenario because we know what the Pistons are capable of. Lakers just need to play agressive with that tough team D. Malone probably should play just for his D on Sheed and his rebounding. Lakers have to play like they want it more, because as you all know, The Pistons have looked like they are much hungrier.
DAMN! I'm amped for this game! Bring it on!!!!!! I can't wait, let's do this!!! Let's not get ahead of ourselves singing "We are the champions" just yet. One game at a time baby, three more, and let it start by Lakers grabbing a win tonight. Never give up Laker fans, this is the time, have faith, THERE IS HOPE!!!!
GOOOOO LAKERS!!!! :man8: - (That wood is the Pistons and the Lakers is the saw)

I am pumped up!!! :jam2: Hoping for a great game tonight!
One win tonight and we will regain homecourt adv., which is amazing given that we've been dominated for most of the three games played so far. Let's flip the switch tonight! :mhihi:

"Basketball reasons" is as believable coming from Mitch Kupchak as it was coming from David Stern. #IWantedPhil
