We've been winning but not in the most ideal way. Should have blown the Cavs out and Kobe shouldn't have needed 40. Hope we get a well balanced attack tomorrow.

This will be ugly. We could keep it close if we simply feed the bigs and try to get Jordan and Blake in foul trouble. But Kobe will continue to shoot too much (I know he is scoring, but him shooting more than Gasol and Bynum combined is ALWAYS too much -- when that is the biggest advantage the Lakers have on every team).

Also, when the bigs miss close range shots, it is harder for teams to get out in transition.


So, why will the Lakers likely struggle?

1. Kobe will shoot too many jumper, leading to CP3 transition lobs to Jordan and Griffin.

2. Gasol and Bynum will be in foul trouble as CP3 and Mo Williams destroy Fish and Morris all night. No Blake will really hurt the Lakers.

3. The Bench. Sigh. Not even close. Mo will have 25 points himself.

So...it will take an energetic, focused, intense defense effort to even stay close in this. The Clips are high after beating Miami, and well rested.

They may have the biggest advantages over the Lakers, more than any other team -- quick athletic and energetic bigs who really run the floor; two small and quick PGs; decent 3 point shooter; and guys who can make Kobe really work (Chauncy and Butler).

So they more than match up man per man, AND they are strong where the Lakers are weak.

I see a 13 point loss coming. Sorry. (not just because the Clips are formerly my Buffalo Braves).

I know we can crush them if we play smart and use our advantages. Kobe needs to post up the smaller defenders.If we chuck threes or long twos we're dead with the Clips athleticism. Bench please show up.

Two possible scenarios:
Kobe will be hot as hell and go off for 50+ and we win by 3-5 pts.

Kobe will be cold but keep on shooting and not feeding the bigs and we lose by 15 pts.

At the current state of our team there is no other option possible IMO. I don't think Kobe will start to be a facilitator tonight and I don't think that our 3 ball will fall out of the blue.

I hope Kobe is hot and puts the Clippers in their place and shows the world that LA is Lakers Land.

Lakers are at #7 in my new rankings; Clippers at #12. I like the Lakers by five.

Hahahahaha, what a n00b. Everyone knows that Brian Cook is allergic to the low post. If he tries to go anywhere near the low box he breaks out into hives.
