Bigs don't get to shoot as much in this twin towers offense Brown brought over from SA.

That applies to Kobe too.

I'm talking about NOW. Not what he done in the past. Kobe is not that player anymore that he once was. You are holding on, hoping that he still is. I hope I'm wrong, but I doubt it.

I agree, Kobe isn't the player he once was, but to say he's not top 20 is ridiculous. He's still top 10 at worst, he shows up when it matters. If he doesn't show up this year when it matters then I will agree that he has fallen off. I don't think we would be seeing him struggle this much had Brown not been playing him the 2nd most minutes in the NBA this season though, so I don't put it all on Kobe, if he had reduced minutes I feel he'd still be close to the Kobe we've always known. He showed he still had it the first few months of the season, but now he's clearly worn out, that's on Brown.

Postby Forward Three on Sat Mar 31, 2012 2:34 pm

The third quarter lethargy is very disconcerting as well. It's been happening all year, it even used to happen with Phil Jackson's teams the past couple of years(though less often). Some teams come out of the locker room after the half as though the score is 0-0 and they are ready to prove something. Lakers come out as though the score is 20 points in their favor and they're playing an exhibition game anyway, and it is against 9th graders.

Complacency has been related to almost every annoying tendency this team has had all season, and that just insults the fans. It's one thing to watch a team struggle or lose a game, but when they do it with no energy, no heart, no nothing... what's the point in even rooting for the team at that point?
