They played just OK. We started out VERY strong but then got lazy and that almost costed us the game.

Shaq Fan wrote:Were the suns outstanding?

They played pretty well. Not bad for them. Stephon was torching us, but Devean George shut Marion down in the final few minutes.

Shaq Fan wrote:And what else happened in the game?

Shaq threw down some nice dunks and that was about it. Devean George came up BIG for us is many ways tonight. Payton was our driving force throughout the game.

Thanks BDG. Do you think our DEFENSE will be better in the games to come?

John Ireland of Channel 9 said that during pre-game they were very receptive and friendly, but the whole game they booed him. That's what I called split personality. The desert heat must have been affecting their head.

All I can say is that the Suns had a lot of lucky shots. Joe Johnson, Penny, and Marbury got some lucky shots....and we still won.

A true sign of a championship team is when you played bad, and the other team played pretty good, and you still won.....your a championship team.

WOW one hell of a game i'll tell u what the huge factor in todays game was KARL MALONE...he got Amare into early foul trouble and gave Amare some fits on both ends of tah court...GREAT game by karl malone, and he hit a KEY shot down tha stretch when shaq was doubled, he gaev tha lakers a 95-94 lead with a nice jumper...man it was so weird seein other players with tha ball in tha crunch!

Lakers played a pretty good game , i dont see how they played bad, it was actually tha suns who jus caught fire anc couldnt miss a shot! Penny was lighting it up, Joe Johnson was lightin it up, and Stephon kept breakin our Defense...and can someone explain to me WHY kobe was guarding tha fastest player on tha court and not gary when we know Kobe has weak legs right now? i jus dont understand phil jackson sometimes...

I'll tell u what, i think George and Fisher should be awarded tha unofficial "5th and 6th man award" cuz these guys STEPPED UP tonight and hit key shots in tha 4th quarter and not to mention Devean's 2 BIG rebounds! I really like what i saw tonight but im a bit sketchy about Kobe right now, 4-12 is not kobe bryant shooting...its ok jus his first game and we got tha W and thats all that matters! Bring on tha warriors baby!

and oh yes, when ever kobe had tha ball, he was booed and i was gettin so PISSED and every time he'd score i'd get up and be like "F*** YOU PHOENIX F*** YOU!" man i havent had that kinda enthusiasm since last years Playoffs against tha spurs!

I agree on all your takes FabFour.

Malone was truly the game hero in the clutch for today. He gave us the presence inside during the last 2 minutes of the game. And when he was fouled, he made his free throws.

Co-MVPs go to Devean George and Derek Fisher.

Fish made some terrific and clutch shots in the 4th and Devean was all over the court as he grabbed some great rebounds.

Payton and Shaq played great and were the stabilizing force throughout the game. Payton was a defensive force in the backcourt, while Shaq played a great game inside.

Kobe looked OK......and I'm being nice. He made a horrible pass to Devean George late in the game, but he made some clutch free throws at the end.

Everyone contributed to this victory.

Oh yeah.......Kareem Rush still can't make an open 3 pointer. He can make some baskets inside the arc, but anything outside the 3 point arc, he either misses horribly or air balls.
