Not so sure that's correct, but off the top of my head.

Phil wanted Yao because he thought Yao was the perfect triangle center. Well, that guy could very well be Mihm.

dude, don't go too overboard here. remember the season opener last year....

I forgot what happened

Seriously, this is what I was just saying about 2 pages ago, Posters will be claiming our guys are all stars against teams like the bobcats, but against teams like Denver we see the real talent of this team.

Mihm's problem has always been foul trouble, when he hasn't been in foul trouble, he has produced. Last year, he was always in foul trouble on the road, which skewed his numbers.

some thoughts i had during the game:

-brian cook is playing much better in the post, getting rebounds and scoring.

-tony bobbit, if he can shoot the way he did tonight thruout the season i think he deserves a roster sapce

-aaron mckie....the only noticeable thing was that he blew that layup from a NICE backdoor pass from kobe.

-smush and brian cook should get good minutes this year

oh yeah, someething else: LAKERS NEED TO WORK ON THEIR FREE THROWS

...and if brian cook can shoot consistently and rebound and play a little defense he can be a good 6th man off the bench....fighting with it for george :mhihi:

Here is the recap

LA LAKERS 98, CHARLOTTE 97
Box Score | Lakers Home | Bobcats Home

SAN DIEGO (Ticker) -- Kobe Bryant showed that he was in midseason form for the Los Angeles Lakers.

Bryant scored 25 points and Chris Mihm chipped in with 14 and 11 rebounds as the Lakers posted a 98-97 preseason triumph over the Charlote Bobcats at ipayOne Center.

The Bobcats put forth a valiant effort late in the fourth quarter, but Bryant saved his best for last.

Kareem Rush converted 1-of-2 free throws with about a minute remaining to pull Charlotte within two, but Los Angeles clinched the win on its ensuing possession.

Mihm took a feed in the low post and dished to Bryant, who drilled a 17-foot jumper from the left elbow to give the Lakers a 98-94 lead with 50 seconds left.

Lamar Odom collected 12 points, 10 rebounds and six assists while Smush Parker - who will likely start opposite Bryant in the backcourt - added 13 points for Los Angeles.

Primoz Brezec paced the Bobcats with 20 points and 14 rebounds before fouling out with about four minutes to go. Rush scored 14 points and rookie Raymond Felton chipped in with 12 and seven assists for Charlotte, which squandered a 48-43 lead at halftime.

phil is really showing LO's all round game.

every box score ive seen, LO is almost at a triple double... :jam2:

he doesnt neccesarily need to score, but the rebounds and assists he dishes is what helps our team so much.

A couple of comments:

Kwame is inconsistent and can't make free throws. With his athleticism he should be blocking more shots--only 1 tonight and we only had 2 as a team.

Mihm had a nice game again--14 points, 12 rebounds. If he made free throws it would've been better--but hey, at least he knew how to get to the line.

Odom's putting very all-around stats but I'd be more impressed if he showed more scoring ability.

Kobe didn't take any threes today.

I wish Parker wouldn't get in so much trouble. Also, I wish he would get more assists--he's been hovering around 1, 2, and 3 lately. On the plus side, he's shooting extremely well.

Von Wafer needs to play.

Brian Cook is showing more of a post game and taking less threes--I like that.

Devin Green got into foul trouble.

Bobbitt played fairly well.

Lakers > Spurs

Yeah quit dreaming.

Considering they are looking for their third and fourth string teams since their first team is all experienced champioships and second string is equivalent to any NBA starting 5.

With that said, we have a better record than the Spurs. :man1:

i was being sarcastic. and i dont agree with you on the second string being equal to a regular starting 5. :pd:

I was at the game!!!

First impression, when the second string line-up came onto the floor, I got worried. We have no bench. Laron Profit is a joke. I don't even know why he's still in it.

Secondly, our trap defense needs some working on. Charlotte went on a huge run when they were able to break the press. Once the ball passed half court, there were at least 2 Bobcats open.

Third, I like the fact that Odom can now play in the wing, but with someone his size compared to other SF's, I think he'd be utilized really well if he were to post up. I'd like to see Odom work the low post against these smaller SF's

Lastly, Kwame. He has some post moves, but most of them are mechanical. He got swatted like crazy right after he airballed his free throw. He just seemed out of the game tonight. He had one nice move to the basket, with a quick first step then finished with a dunk, but besides that, unimpressed.
