Three words, "payback's a bi_ch" We need to bury this team alive, whether its only for three quarters and rest our starters we must teach this team to respect us. They trampled us and added to a two game losing streak. I just hope they are willing to take it cuz they sure looked like they liked giving it. We need to destroy them to give us the momentum back against this team. Blowout decreases the chance that they beat us again this season. :man9: :man9:

He better cuz we'll have trouble with Memphis if he doesnt!

I expect tha lakers to take this one from tha very start and send a message to memphis that WE ARE BACK and NOBODY is gon stop us!

But memphis is a DANGEROUS team, they come in with a PRETTY decent record, 6-5, and they come off a big win in seattle...so look for them to try to run away with this one, but we need to slow down their bench and their energy...we'll be fine, i dont like predicting scores, but:

11-3

Everytime you guys predict a 50 point bowlout it never is.

It's not gonna be easy. Especially if Shaq's out and Horace has to play 40 minutes.

I agree with Posto on this one. Memphis will give us problems tommorow with or without Shaq.

However, I say we give the ball to Kobe in the 4th again. He did great last night and made smart desicions with it. We should do the same this game if Shaq isn't going to play.

Shaq is a gametime decision....the matchups don't look too astounding, jsm wrote it for the last game, and last time the Grizz tortured us at their own court, guys like Lorenzen Wright and Gasol shot the lights out...but this is Staples Center, and the Grizz are awful at Staples, still don't take Hubie and the GM of the team, Jerry West, lightly...we should know that...recently Dahntay Jones got activated for them, just to let ya know, not that he's gonna make much of an impact....still, with Shaq out, their center is probably Stromile Swift, so if Shaq is not there, preferably he would be--then I would sense a blowout, then Jamal and Horace better do a good job. This also seems like a game someone like Kareem Rush can take advantage of in making shots and scoring points...gotta feeling...but I won't say it's easy...

I have a feeling if shaq out for tonite's game. We're going to do just fine.
Of course I would like him to play out there like eveyone else.
Kobe, Karl, and GP will step up to the challenge. And the bench will produce as well. I see us having a close game w/ them.

I would have just linked you to my player matchups from the last time we played them, but the lineups have changed some due to the Grizzlies getting some of their injured players back.

player matchups

Payton/Williams- Both are guys who like to get out and run, so this should be a fun game to see. Williams will get lost in defending Payton, because of Payton's superior knowledge of the game and game situations. And Payton is under control when he plays, while Williams still plays erratic. Both will get double digits and a good amount of assists, but Payton should be able to force Williams to cause some turnovers and get some easy steals. But with these 2 guys at the point, look for there to be a lot of running and probably some fast breaks. Payton will need to score more, if Shaq sits.

Kobe/Miller- Kobe should be able to prevent Miller from having a good shooting night with his D, and Kobe should have a good game since Miller isn't all that good of a player on defense. I think Kobe will try to use his quickness to his advantage and get to the basket and either get the basket or go to the line, he should be able to do this with ease because he is much quicker that Miller. And if Shaq sits out, expect Kobe to take this game over and shoot more than usual.

George/Battier- George struggled against the Bulls, so hopefully his shots will fall tonight, if not it will be hard for him to get into the game. If George struggles again tonight, look for Russell to see some minutes. Battier will be looking to score, so George will have to try and find ways to prevent him from scoring.

Malone/Gasol- Gasol is a good 3 inches taller than Malone, and is fairly long, so he will probably be their leading scorer. Hopefully Malone can play some D on him, and aggravate his shot. And look for Malone to get a double-double, because he's a lot more aggressive on the boards. Malone will have to continue to look to shoot the ball more, especially if Shaq isn't playing.

Shaq or Grant/Tsakalidis- If Shaq does play, I don't think he will dominate like usual, because he will be playing hurt, if he doesn't play then look for them to try and take advantage of that and go to the basket a lot, especially with their big men. Jake's performance will depend on whether Shaq plays. If Shaq plays, Tsakalidis will struggle to get any points, if Shaq sits, then he will do decently.

We're just minutes away from tip-off... I hope we get to see Slava. Anyone know of his status?

Shaq won't play for sure, Sundy and Stuie confirmed it...oh well, with three HOFs we shall still be able to frizzle the Grizz....after all, its Staples, but Friday's game was totally pathetic...the BULLS...come on...we need a huge effort by Horace Grant tonight...defense, rebounding, hitting the open shot, and I gotta FEELING WE ARE gonna beat this team badly and send them back to their ranches back at Memphis....something tells me that this team is too far, driven and motivated...WE need to and WILL, WILL win....

Nice link, soniclude!

Once again, defense is our problem but we're undermanned and playing pretty well without Shaq.

29-28 Lakers at the end of the 1st. Shaq's not playing. Slava has 6 points :jam2:
"Sitting in the house, I'm loadin' up the pump. I'm loadin' up the Uzi. I got a couple M-16s, a couple 9s. I got a couple joints with some silencers on them. I'm just loading clips, a couple grenades. I got a missile launcher with a couple of missiles. I'm ready for war." - Kevin Garnett

I'm sorry but KAREEM RUSH IS TERRIBLE. This is what I'm talking about, he misses open layups.
