kray28 wrote:Reasons we're only up 1:

1. Drew getting outplayed by Diondre Jordan, especially on the boards. Actually our whole frontcourt is getting outhustled by the Clips.
2. Everybody including Kobe missing freethrows.
3. Early in the shotclock chucking (one for Fish, one for Shannon, and one for Luke)
4. Poor transition D, but in fairness we've kept the turnovers low and limited transition opportunities for them.

Kobe needs to assert himself more....don't rely on the bigs. For now he's content to sit back and let the other do the scoring. Early on, I think we made a mistake in terms of giving Drew a lot of post touches. Those touches should have been going to Pau who's a better all around post player.

Pretty happy with Lamar's play though...he's really bailed us out so far.

1) Drew has 7 boards in the half. And 8 points. And he's played 6 less minutes than Jordan. Pau and LO need to step it up.

2) True.

3) Agree.

4) If we stop TO's transition D won't be an issue.

Lawler and Smith are massive homers, particularly when it comes to Blake and Gordon. Did you catch the part where Smith broke down Blake Griffin.

He had

Nique's jumping ability
Kobe's work ethic
LeBron's basketball IQ
Rodman's energy
Jordan's athleticism

I literally spat up as the list went on.

One of the reasons why they're getting the rebounds isn't effort but being out of position on defense. Our bigs double the guard on pick and roll - their big gets position for the rebound, our guards play out of position by helping double anybody in the post - leads to open shots and/or offensive rebounds, our bigs jump out to help dribble penetration too early - their bigs in position for the rebound.

nothing special...nobody got a lead or something.

Lakers are not hitting shots from outside, Clippers are missing shots from inside. But we have the advantage in inside scoring while the Clippers are out-hustling the Lakers as usual and grabbing rebounds.

Jordan has 11 and Diogu has 9. The Lakers have not played well yet, seems like the best is yet to come.

Griffin has only 2 points..many clippers in foul trouble.

My wife knows I can't stand other announcers. When this was on, I turned to her and said, "He'd be the best player ever if that were true." But it's OBVIOUSLY not true. So they're wrong all over the place. He's a great athlete.

I know I'm stating the obvious but... Fish really can't defend anyone. At all. He can only get a charge here and there.

I feel better about Luke on the court than Derek, that is how bad Derek is.

Pau needs to stay down on that play. There is no need to jump until the player releases the ball.

Lakers have shot 20 free throws compared to the Clippers 9. I can't remember the last time LA had such a FTA advantage. It's pretty rare. Sadly, one of the only things keeping us in the game really. Too many turnovers, too many missed shots, not enough moving the ball.
