Even though I'm happy for the way the Melo trade worked out for the Nuggets, and I do think they can upset the Thunder, I don't see this being too exciting. I think the Lakers gonna run away with this one, if not by the late first half, early on in the second. :smoker:

thats the Knicks team that we abused some months ago....without Amare, Fields, Douglas but with Nene, Aflalo and Smith.

I'll take it.

Interested in seeing this new look Nuggets team that's supposedly better on both defense and offense. At the same time, I'm expecting a blowout. Then again, the Lakers and a national t.v. game you expect them to win - anything can happen. People have been saying how dominant the Lakers have looked since the all-star break but there was a few game stretch in the last week or two where they were flirting with a loss and didn't seem up for the game.

A little worried about this game, but less so than I was about Utah. The Nuggets have always been kind of problematic for the Lakers, but that was the Melo-era nuggets and that was mostly in Denver. Still, once you get past 9-wins, I think every game gets a little more nervous(to us at least, I'm sure the players are perfectly fine with it). But after that 17-point comeback, I feel like this team is not only firing on all cylinders, they are also not taking anything lying down or for granted.

No Chauncey?

No Birdman?

No chance. In hell.

Only one that gives the Lakers fits is Wilson Chandler.

Glad you guys are confident. I needed to see that.

I am very worried about this game. They are strong in 4 of the 5 weakness areas for the Lakers.

LA's weakness (problems with other teams)

1. Speedy PG Play (P&R too) -- Denver has two of the speediest (Lawson and Felton). Long day for Fish and Blake. Getting back in transition wil be key.

2. Defending 3 point shooters. Denver has many of them. If Kobe, Ron, and Shannon play dumb and sag, then Galo, JR, Harrington, Aflalo, could get hot. Granted, LA does a decent job on these and jump shots should kill Den, but any team can get hot. Hope JR has a JET day and hurts his team.

3. Having TWO guys who can do a decent job on Kobe -- Aflalo and Chandler. Can def make him work and take his legs for later in the game. Not saying they can stop him. But they are good defenders.

4. Active and athletic bigs. Nene can get Drew in foul trouble. We have seen Birdman's energy. If he is not playing, then I am not worried about Martin. Of course this favors LA, but so long as Drew and Pau have energy and don't get punked like they did for stretches against the Jazz d-league.

5. Bench -- not even close here. Not close. Denver's bench will likely destroy LAs. I hope not. But Phil will need to mix and match starters or it could get ugly. I hope Barnes coming back helps them. And I hope JR plays like Shannon and Shannon hits a few shots.

Simple game plan, feed our bigs. Hope Kobe plays Kobe-nash and goes for 12 assists. Then it will be easy. But I am worried.

OH, and please don't double Nene and Harrington and Martin!!! Please!!!! Gasol was abused by Al Harrington last game, as sad as that is to say. Hope Gasol mans up and posts him early and often.

But if I see Fish or Kobe doubling down for no reason and Felton or JR go off I am gonna be :mad1:

Their PGs are probably going to have a good game. But, since we're not playing in Denver (high altitude) and their style of play doesn't work that well against the Lakers.... and they have no Birdman to bring rebounding and hustle... their chances are slim. I mean, they could win it if we play horrible, but it's not very likely. Basically, if we bring our "B" game, we should win comfortably.

absolutely no defense, gasol losing all the rebs and not securing things.

they're either super lazy, bored, or tired.

Do these guys have to constantly be reminded that the spurs won/lost their game earlier? I don't want any close games fight now, we need a blow out.

Early afternoon sluggish start. Kobe's shot looks off, but he's been fouled on two moves to the rim with no calls so far

Kobe's pressing and everyone is missing except Bynum. Get it to Bynum seems to be the answer.
