Sun. 1/1 - Lakers @ Nuggets - Predictions & Comments

Maybe if Steve has a few more games like tonight's, he'll be our starter. He may not be perfect, but he won't attack the basket and throwing up some ugly shot hoping for a foul.

For sure. They'll find a way to show and emphasize how it ranks in nba history.

AND THEY SHOULD!!!! He deserves flat out destruction from all sports media for this one I hope he hears it loud and clear KOBE YOU WERE AWFULLLLLLL out there. Sometimes the press overreacts to him but this one I hope he never forgets at least for the season because this was outright disgraceful. Some of the shots were ones he normally makes I get that but he chucked up plenty trying to shoot himself out of the slump when Bynum and Gasol deserved the ball everytime and he shouldve just been used as a decoy

Shooting numbers maybe, but he also made a big shot in the final minutes of that game, grabbed a ton of boards and played hard on D all night, can't say that about this game.

I really don't understand why kobe continues to shoot shots like that when you're shooting that poorly. I understand the "shooters mentality" but at some point you have to realize that you're hurting your team.

Bynum shot 4-10 on FTs
Fisher was dreadful
Transition D was beyond atrocious

That seems important.

i am not one to blame Kobe like many Lakers fans when he has a bad shooting night....particularly when he had virtually no other scoring options on the team, but tonight was enough for me. the points you make above are somewhat relevant, but seriously, Kobe NEEDED to realize that his shot was way off and check his ego at the door and pass the ball up to Bynum and Pau tonight - and yes 100% on Kobe over-shooting

^ You're right. And that's why he's the Zero. But 100%? That's an overreaction. And he did pass to the bigs, at least a reasonable amount down the stretch. They missed. Or Bynum got fouled, got to the line, and missed those.

^^ i think 100% is fair enough to be honest in this game. they missed FT's against the Bulls in the opener which were more important than in this game, each time the Lakers got a roll on, Kobe came down and bricked it up

Bynum and Pau were killing it and didn't see anywhere near enough ball at the end of the game....so Kobe continuing to shoot too much was kinda younger days #8 Kobe, not elder-statesman, mature #24 Kobe

i think, mike brown hasnt figured out how to integrate kobe into the offense now that bynum is back.. as much as this loss is on kobe - mike has to do a better job of getting the ball to kobe in spots where he can work with it.. with bynum low, i dont see kobe as often at the elbow.

out on the wing past the 3 point line late in the shot clock doesnt make kobe's life easy.

if there is a silver lining we should take from this - its that just drew as offense works.. to a reasonable extent.

kob better bounce back.

didn't think i would say this, but for me....

Kobe = Zero
Blake = Hero

Blake because i simply couldn't split Bynum and Pau as the dominant figures in this game, and i really liked Blake's game tonight, particularly after i gave him the zero a couple of games ago lol

if Bynum keeps developing, being consistent and keeps producing AND Kobe is happy to share the stage with him, i really believe they could have a couple of years that could look a lot like Shaq and Kobe....

well i have to say i am a lakers fan and an absolute kobe bryant fan but this time we lost because of kobe bryant way to much outside shooting never had a touch or rhythm could drove to the basket sometimes when the slower miller was on him instead settled for [Swearing is not permitted at Clublakers. You must edit this post prior to submitting.] jumpshots. . he was awful. he looked bad all night , had some costly turnover as well. didn t moved well looked slow took way to many shots espicially from 3 point range because was to slow to get by his man. this time he looked like a very old man or at least like a player who is injured and hurt. 2 games in a row where he was in a slump and played bad,ugly and simply [Swearing is not permitted at Clublakers.
