Kobe is completely invisible right now...not even touching the ball on offense.

they have some homer announcers there in Toronto..

the guy said "even though Bargnani is not a sensational rebounder, he gets you 5 or 6 as a 7 footer"...and I was like "well thats atrocious rebounding for a 7 footer" and every other player in the NBA can replace those rebounds easily.

Well, we'll win in a blowout game. Slowly, but surely, we're getting there.

Bynum almost swatted that through the backboard. :man10:

What a nice defensive play.

Bad call on the offensive foul...but loved that LA had a block party underneath to end the quarter.

I don't care if Drew doesn't dunk...he has 8 points, 2 boards, and a block in 7 minutes.

LOL Drew. Had Calderon jumped a bit higher - he would have been beheaded.

Nice defensive block by Bynum.

Horrible job of not boxing out by LO.

the only reason we aren't leading by a lot is we played terrible defense in the first...and we had 10 turnovers in this half which is way too much.

I think the word came down from Phil to run the offense through the bigs. Not a bad idea really...it was the work inside that slowly allowed us get and build the lead.

And this fits the typical Kobe pattern days. Some activity in the first to get things going...then let the others do some work, and then start the engines turning again in the third or later in the game down the stretch.

That wasn't my point. He had a bunch of opportunities to dunk - which could contribute to his confidence level and each time he was fouled.

Drew is getting hammered, but he doesn't seem any worse for the wear. Didn't he dunk one in the first half?

Drew looks slow and weak going the rim, and that's why the fouls are actually affecting his ability to make the shot. No explosion and no finish. At least he's made 6-8 at the line to cover up for the lack of finishing.

Defensively, he's still able to use his length to get to some balls, and that's worked out for us a couple of times.

I thought Kobe played a pretty good half of ball. Got fouled at least twice that weren't called. And we seem to be doing just fine without him having the ball much. Our bigs are so much better than theirs it's ridiculous.

After the middle three games of the road trip, the Lakers have definitely slacked defensively. They didn't buckle down defensively until the fourth quarter in Philly, and I'm thinking that probably that's what you'll see here if the lead isn't at least maintained through the third.

I'd say that they are definitely tired after over a week on the road.

I think we needed some balance in that last stint. No problem with going through Pau, but even the Raptors clued into it after a point and the hard doubles and triples on the low post started coming and disrupted at least a couple of possessions. So running it through Kobe at least a changeup would have been good....instead the only perimeter guy who seemed to be involved was Fish.

Well, I think we can all agree about one thing: the scoring is very balanced right now. Kobe/Pau/LO/Bynum/Matt/Artest/Brown can all score when needed.
