I mean, this is the exact same game the Lakers have played(and lost) over a dozen times this season. Same ~15 point deficit, same layup drill, same "every time the Lakers score twice in a row, the opposition scores 4 times in a row", same inability to force stops or lock in on defense. Same playing from behind where the lead will shrink to a one or two possession game and then immediately be back to a double-digit deficit. Same "finally!" moments where Kobe hits a big shot or two and gives you a little hope for a second only to lead to more layups on the other end. Nothing has changed at all from the 4-game losing streak, the 6-game losing streak...etc.

What's the point in seeing Kobe or anyone score a big bucket when you know the opposition will score on their next trip. Their defense is some of the worst I have ever seen. Usually teams with 'bad defense' can at least actually make a stop happen on purpose once in a while. For the Lakers a 'stop' is just having the opposition missing and not managing to secure an offensive board(which happens a lot too)

When they play like this(which has been the majority of the season) it is at a level that can hardly even be called professional basketball. D-league teams would be blowing the Lakers out right now, and that is no joke.

17 and 27 soon. Will be totally out of it by the all-star break. MDA is terrible

Run a play. Why does anyone have to carry anyone? Run the plays. The raptors have a bunch of nobodies and they are doing it.

We've been waiting for them to turn the corner. They teased us a couple times with mini win streaks. At some point, when does it become obvious they aren't going to turn the corner?

No. The defense is the problem. They cannot get stops. They literally cannot get stops. They have allowed the Raptors to score layups on consecutive possessions several times this game. Kobe could be shooting 65% and they'd still probably lose, albeit a closer loss, because they literally cannot stop the basketball at all.

They have small dudes on Pau, just keep going to him, up that trade value big time.
