Lakers bench combined: 2/15, 4 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists.

What the hell happened? I'm looking at the box score, and I'm seeing only Pau and Kobe showed up for the Lakers, while Manu, TD, and RJ did for the Spurs. Is that accurate?

I wonder if Mitch is still "comfortable with what we have". We didn't get anything from the bench all year long.

i can't believe it was just a coupla years ago announcers would say the lakers bench could almost be a starting 5 of their own in the NBA. now i look at the names on our bench roster and just wince.

That's what I was getting at, but I didn't want to call them out. At this point, though, I'm not surprised.

Our bench continues to struggle. Also, the 4th quarter showed why we need Bynum. Duncan just overpowered Pau on the box.

I think Kobe's injuries have caught up to him, and this isn't the Lakers year. Pau, and the entire team have been out of rhythm offensively all year and they just aren't hungry enough to repeat. They aren't the Bulls or early Lakers... they are like basically every other championship this past decade. only good enough to win one.

It's true there's still no Drew, and I'm sure he would have helped today. But most of the rest of the Lakers need to step it up big-time.

I really believe injuries, lack of chemistry, and no PG and bench production hurt us.

The injuries and lack of chemistry goes together because, when has LA been healthy all season and have everyone practice/play together? Not much during training camp because that's when Pau got injured. Not one time during the regular season, because four starters missed AT LEAST games. Am I blaming injuries for us sucking every other game? No, because LA could play better.

Do I really need to talk about the PG/bench? It's no secret that we've been hurt by them the most, especially the bench. Just 2 years ago, we had the best bench who not only gave us leads when we were down, but EXTENDED the lead bigtime. Now, we can get even get any points from the bench. We get nothing. The lack of bench support is murdering this team, and even with Lamar there, they still aren't that good.
