Lakers Surge Late, Can't Catch Dallas
The Lakers outscored the Mavs by 13 in the fourth quarter, but could not pull even in Sunday afternoon’s 114-112 loss. Kobe Bryant’s free throw with one second to go in the game brought the Lakers within two, but they could get no closer before time expired. Hopefully Kobe plays... I hope all's well with his situation.

Slava laughed at the suggestion his skills might be affected by the down time. "Are you kidding?" he said. "Basketball is like ball. It's all a circle."

BEST VIDEO EVER ... AND AND THE SECOND BEST.

Yeah, I'd love him to play too since this is my first Laker game ever but family comes first. So, if he decides not to play, then I'll be cool with that too.

It's the last home game of the season, and I really hope Kobe plays, but if his wife's situation is still bad, then forget it.

Easy win by the Lakers, just as always.

I got a crazy prediction for this one...LOSS. Mavs are relatively healthy. They are one of the deepest teams in the league and AJ has them playing D now. So, forget about it. No Kobe + no Odom + no Tierre= no chance.

Plus, Frank is incompetent to be a NBA coach. He doesn't want to win, wants lotto balls, and quit on us a long time ago.

I call an upset for once... last home Laker game, the crowd will be into it and the players will give it their all as for some of them... it will be their last game in purple and yellow in that building again.

Press Enterprise: The Lakers said Bryant, who didn't attend practice Thursday and missed a team charity event the same night, will stay with his wife for the foreseeable future.

"He's doing the right thing being with his wife," said Lakers coach Frank Hamblen. "The most important thing is his family."

Vanessa Bryant's ectopic pregnancy is rare and dangerous. It occurs when a fertilized egg implants outside the uterus, usually in the fallopian tube. If the egg grows too large, it could pose a threat to the mother.

Vanessa Bryant will need surgery and won't be able to carry the pregnancy to term.

Lakers public relations director John Black said Bryant called General Manager Mitch Kupchak and trainer Gary Vitti to let them know about his situation.

Black said Bryant also called Jeanie Buss, the team's vice president of business operations, and apologized for not attending the team's event Thursday night in Santa Monica. Bryant and his wife were supposed to host the VIP party.
